In my recent "downtime"...
I kinda kicked ass and got one of my websites on Google's 2nd page for a "kinda low competition" keyword...

Anyways, it's a short keyword... and I REALLY REALLY want to get it to Google's 1st page..

How the hell can I do it??

I've tried MORE and MORE quality backlinks.... started a keyword rich blog, that was part of the site, set up a good link strategy...

But, i'm still on the 2nd page...

welcome back boosey. like the others said more web 2.0 and time. Also try and drop some links on the first page competition.

I've already put my links on ALL the 1st page competitions sites....

What's this "web 2.0" ?

social sites
Squidoo
blogger
wordpress
hubpages
your lovely weebly.......

get the idea?

build those social squidoos zimbios bloggers etc and 1 way link them to your page that you want ranked well, then bookmark and backlink every single thing.

Hey boosey, have you read this thread here?
Code:
http://www.blackhatworld.com/blackhat-seo/member-downloads/66543-get-linkwheel.html

It's about using web 2.0 properties as links to your site. Hope it helps.

Where is this Diamond Dave's Web 2.0 Ebook people have been talking about?

write a few articles and submit them to

submityourarticle dot c0m

it cost $37 a month but well worth it

then submit a press release at

webwire dot c0m

and make sure to use the text of the keyword you are trying to rank for in the spot called "related links" - btw the press release doesnt have to be anything special, I have submitted real crap press releases no more than 200 words and they are accepted since there is no editor that checks them.

if it is low competition like you say that should do it after 3-4 articles and a press release

let me know if that works for you - if not i'll give you some more ideas

also try to get the 1#(your competitor) info using..
websiteoutlook.com

how many index page he have..
also how many backlink he have..

try to be more than wat he have...

Have you tried a tool like SEO4Firefox to analyze the pages on the first page? Finding out how many links they have will give you a blueprint on what you need to beat them.

If you have more backlinks than sites ranking ahead of you, then their backlinks are probably more relevant... search the sites out that link to them and get them to link to you as well.

Make sure you've got a keyword rich title. Also try to get web 2.0 links.

You'll be alright... :)
