Hi buddy, I am a new blogger. Recently i have started a new blog. It is 20days old. Now i want to know the best way to promote my blog and gain traffic. I want to know how to more favor with search engines & increase my Alexa rank? Any one help me?

Create your presence on Social Media platforms (i.e. Facebook & Twitter) and post on your SM accounts daily with updates from your site or updates on changes within your niche in general. As your Blog has time to mature and your Social Presence has grown and you've had time to turn your Blog into an authoritative Blog, you'll start receiving daily traffic from Google & your Social Media accounts as long as you keep up with it and stay dedicated to keeping up to date "quality" information for your visitors.

Don't worry about Alexa rank, it's totally irrelevant.
What you want is traffic, comments, shares, possibly links.
Are you a kick-ass blogger? If you are, go ahead look for other bloggers who'd be interested in your topics, comment of their posts and get to know them.

it will take some moths until you might be able to get some traffic from the search engines.

If you are for the long run try to concentrate on writing quality articles . That will increase your visits via shares and search engines

I don't want be pessimistic but usually people fail a lot on the first attempts

You need to read lots. You're basically asking "what is SEO"....you'll need to read up on how to get traffic, how to monetize your traffic and so on.

What sort of blog have you got? Their are numerous sites out there that allow you to post your posts to their site to gain traffic and exposure. On the downside these are usually only short term solutions unless you have quality content and a good amount of it

You're very vague with your post. There are a multitude of different routes you can take to promote your blog, nobody can suggest to best for you.

Thtat's something you have to figure out and focus on.

Start with the basics, share it with your friends on facebook, twitter.. make a video on youtube announcing your blog and make a few videos based on your niche with a call to action to visit your blog. Make a press release (use free press release sites) announcing your new blog. Participate in related forums and promote your site in the signature. Be creative, and don't worry about alexa ranking.
