If the tier 1 links ( for example web 2.0 blogs ) is build around keywords CUP, TEA and i decide to build TIER 2 links( for example social bookmarks /article/wiki links ) around keywords BLUE CUP, RED TEA , YELLOW CUP,BIG TEA .

Whats considered better This strategy

MAIN SITE <------>TIER1[cup:keyword]<------>TIER2[Blue cup,red tea:keywords]

or the

MAIN SITE <-----> TIER1[cup:keyword]<------TIER2[cup:keyword] .

Please note that am looking to build 500 backlink in tier1 over 6 keywords and i dont know what keywords to use while blasting tier2( I HAVE 100 more keywords including 6 for tier1 keywords) ..Also i need someone help regarding Anchor tag variation .

Thanks in advance

Do both. Diversity is the key.

Thanks for answering me , do you know what is considered as good variation ?

for example if i have 5 main keywords and 100 secondary keywords

how much should i keep the variation percentage ?

I'd say you shouldn't go over 10% to 15% maximum with each. So you gotta dillute with your secondary kw's.

1. I will not be in favor of making 500 backlinks in tier1 instead i will like to go with 50-100 Web 2.0 high pr good backlinks for Tier1 only.
2. I will not like to have any of 2 choices for keywords instead i will like to keep 10-20% main keyword 20-30% related keyword and rest generic keywords on all tiers no matter it is tier1 or tier2.

Rest everyone have their own opinion and there is no fixed mathematic for it :)

Hey

My recommendation:

15-20% main keyword
15-20% alternative keyword
15-20% LSI keywords (of main & alt keywords)
rest as typical anchor texts ("click here", "click for more information", "mysite dot com", "www dot mysite dot com", etc.)

However, this isn't based on any testing, just logical thought. It worked so far for me.

warm regards,
Michael

Hey guys do i have to maintain the same variation percentage for TIER2 links too ?

whats the difference between Alternate keyword and LSI keywords and how do i find mine ?

If my Main keyword is BLUE CAT
what would be my LSI and alternate keyword ?

then your LSI keywords will be mostly synonyms (related) to main keyword, so that you dilute the main anchor text: BLUE CAT.

Both and or neither.

The idea that tiered linking is a "done once and forget" thing is why many people get upset and ranks fail over time.

My strategy is similar to this as well. However I don't deal with a lot of competition. Just low to mid competition.
