Finding Niches...

Hey guys,

I have been having some trouble finding a niche/s for my adsense website to start it up. I have been following the guide in this post http://www.blackhatworld.com/blackh...g-have-done-before-now-showng-you-how-do.html but I can not find a good starting point, I have tried all the topics he posted such as Finance, Online degrees etc but none of them are giving me decent keywords; and even when I do find a decent keyword the top 20 results are dominated by popular websites such as Wikipedia, Amazon, eBay, eHow so there is no point trying to compete ranking against those domains.

If anyone can help me in anyway please don't hesitate to reply it will be much appreciated.

Here is a quick tip. If you are new to adsense and want to make money I would advise you not to look for niches with higher CTR or high/med competition start like this:

Find a niche YOU enjoy. Video games? Knitting? Motorcycles? Electronics? Music? Pantyhose? elephants? and create a website around that topic. It will not seem like work to you as you enjoy the topic. Then get an audience (completely different topic) make sure your site is adsense compliant, apply and hope for the best.

Now, if you are a seasoned adsense user why are you asking this question?

I think the first principal of niche research is that you need a massive list - get a broad topic, then find lots of related topics / sub categories, then put them all into google keyword research - I beleive they show related keywords as well, and obviously the more you input the more output you will get. And you need to keep experimenting with that until you hit a decent niche.

obviously it's not easy or everyone would be doing it.

tools will help as well if you can afford them - scrapebox can give you a much more comprehensive list of keywords. Also I can't think of the one I used to use a lot, but there are quite a few softwares here that you can put a keyword in to, then they scrape keywords from google/amazon etc and give you a big list AND show you cpc/search volume etc.

First let me say no niche is ever Saturated - because competitive terms have alot more searches so even if you capture a small % that's still more traffic than smaller niches have in total.

those large sites seem to get rankings by default so to beat them you need optimization/focus and great content.

I personally specialize is very highly targeted keywords with lower searches but which average $50-$100 per sale commission.

So I think you need to find what your good at - and figure out whereabouts in the keyword chain you can compete as well.

Lastly I just wanted to add if you can't figure this out for yourself - you can buy keywords prepared for you and go with those.

I think bluematter's strategy revolves around the creation of large volume content targeting hundreds of different keywords not just individual keywords. "I have 107 high quality articles in my site currently, most of my main and sub keywords are in top 3. site is getting around 2500+ visitors everyday."

Could you elaborate more on this highly targeted keywords, danny? What are your requirements for it to be considered highly targeted?
