Say goodbye to image tracking with Gmail recipients

Google will now display images in their email client by default, but they'll be caching them on their own servers first.

This upsets me as an email marketer but it also bothers me as a Gmail user for my personal account for privacy reasons. How do you feel about this change?

Won't this effect tracking? I'm not sure about it but isn't small pixled images used for that? Wich now wont be shown to the user, at least not the original source.

Yeah, I'm kind of curious too how that works out. Since everything is being cached now, I wonder if G will start filtering out certain images. There was obviously a reason for not showing the images before. What are they going to start blocking?

In my opinion, this change is not needed and caching on their servers first? Hmmm
