Question about making a PR network for SEO

When buying domains with PR or just a great backlink profile to use for my private blog network to rank my own sites, I've been told that the domains I buy have to be indexed in Google when I buy them. Is that always necessary? The way I see it, they already have great backlinks going to them, surely it's just a matter of getting them re-indexed?

de-indexed sites might carry penalties from animal updates that's why the best choice is to search for domains that are still indexed.

Being indexed in Google is a good sign the domain has no penalties. Yes there are lots of expired domains not indexed, and yes on some of these you can get them reindexed. I will take a chance on domains now and again, the ones that have been de-indexed. Just depends on your tolerance for risk.

Good point. I see a lot of domains that have been deleted the day before and yet are already de-indexed, it seemed strange. Maybe they have too many backlinks chucked at them at once.

I might try it out, buying a couple of deleted PR/mozRank domains that aren't indexed - I don't see why they shouldn't also help with link juice just because they're not already indexed. A couple of Wiki links and social bookmark/Twitter shares should get them quickly re-indexed.

there are tricks that allow you to use the links from those domains even though the domain is on Cutts black list

But if you have no idea on how to do that I would suggest you to keep distance from de-indexed domains, especially if you're going after big numbers (100+ domains). Gamble your money in a casino, not on GoDaddy

Worst case scenario if the domain is penalised, and a backlink makes my money site drop in ranking, I'll just take the link off. Only spent like $2 on the domain so it's not a huge gamble anyway

if the gamble is worth it to you, go for it. I bought a deindexed domain a few months ago. Now it's a PR2 (bought at pr0 for DA/PA 30+) and DA/PA ~50 so yeah, it was worth the gamble.

as for the second part of your post "I'll just take the link off" first off it's almost impossible to see what impact 1 link has on your SERP's... you will add your link, wait to get it indexed, and if you go down in SERP's you will remove it... but what if you SERP decline is due to the other links in your profile (keep in mind that each link has a "deprecation" factor) ?

Never go for a De Indexed domain..when you can buy Indexed domain pretty easily.

You want to be careful here to make sure that the expired domain isn't penalized. That would be a waste and potentially harmful to your main website
