How do you handle building out backlinks for the network? 80 websites times 5 articles (?) each = 400 pages you could build backlinks to, not including the 80 homepages.

Nice one man! The site used to belong a sports photographer by the looks of things.

They had a sidebar where he lists his old sponsors, I guess you could reuse that for your sites.

So you open up a new shared hosting account for each site? Or do you put them on the same account? Or do you use different providers for each site? Also any tips on picking a good one? There is alot on there!

I host each site on a separate hosting company that I find from web hosting talk.

I've got a spreadsheet where I organise all my domains, when I find a good deal I quickly check the spreadsheet to see that I'm not already using the provider for another site.

Tips on hosting providers do you mean?

It's a complete lottery, I would say that 90% of time I don't have any problems. But there are some which suck, you just need to write them off as a loss and move on.

I don't actually build any backlinks to my network. I just rely on the existing links to the sites for authority.

I guess I could power it up more using something like Ultimate Demon, but for me it's not worth the effort/risk.

I use UD/GSA on throw away web2.0s anyway, this network is like my special sauce I guess you could say.

By using a redirection plugin I ensure that I capture all the existing authority and channel it to the pages I have recreated or just point it to the homepage.

Then I just put up articles I write myself or have written through Odesk.

1.how do you rebuild those expired domain? i mean old pages that belong to old owner? do you build it every single page (let say if there are hundreds or even thousands) then you 301 redirect it to new relevant page OR you just redirect all those 404 pages to homepage?

there're many saying that if we redirect all those 404 pages to homepage, it looks unnatural and this is a footprint for Goog** to track it down, but there're also many saying that it useful to keep all link juice to homepage.

2. do you think we should find RELEVANT expired domain to build private network? how if we get not relevant expired domain and convert it to relevant theme to our money site?

i asked that because many saying that's just fine. how about you?

3. and the last, how do you check majestic seo metric in bulk? since now they limit queries.

1. For every page on the old site that I can find, I recreate it on the new site.

This is dead easy to do, just create a new page in Wordpress, try and copy the URL structure as close as possible and then paste in the old content.

If I can't find content for an old page that I know exists from Ahrefs, I just 301 redirect that page to the homepage or a different relevant page to capture the juice.


2. You can use irrelevant domains! I even said in my original post that there are tons of my competition doing just this. Taking any random domain and just creating a blog on it and forcing it to be relevant. They don't even bother with a logo or images.

However, for me, this is lazy.

There is nothing wrong with it! It works, but in my opinion it is this shortcutting now that could bite you later.

If Google figure out a way to crack down on this, then it will be a blatant change of theme/copy that will be the most obvious footprint.

E.G.

Site A was about Widgets - Now it is about Payday Loans = Obvious as shit

Site A was about Widgets - It is still about blue widgets = They've had a redesign and a slight change in content, not obvious as shit.

3. Sign up for an account, I've got subscriptions to all three.

No easy way around that one I'm afraid!

Great thread, the only thing i would add is to look at other resources than expireddomains.com, Freshdrop.com is also a great recourse to find domains, they cost a bit more but you have a much better quality then with expireddomains.com.

And if you go the different hosting route make sure you have a script that monitors your server (s) uptime and have a backup ready to drop on a new hosting if necessary (think WPtwin)

Aways, always, always use different themes and plugins also mix up advertisement between no adds, some aff ads (no Adsense !!!! (unless you have multiple Adsense accounts)) the key is to have the sites not look like they came out of the same box, differentiate is KING

You're absolutely right! I actually use Fresh Drop myself.

This guide was more of a starters guide so that people could get up and running to give it a go.

I'll probably do a followup guide for more advanced techniques

I actually use InfiniteWP, I link up all my sites and can then update all my plugins/themes and add content from one interface.

It does automatic backups which are a lifesaver.

I'd not thought to put in ads! What aff ads would you recommend other than Adsense?

I am currently creating my own blog network.
It will contain nothing but .de domains and I am looking for a good hosting for them.
Right now it is only about 15 websites, but it will grow by time.

So I am looking for a hosting provider which:

a) got nameservers for .de domains
b) offers different c-class IPs
c) where I can start with 15 IPs and upgrade as time moves on

Any reccommendations on that?

Great thread. Thank you very much. One element you never mentioned is whether we should use our correct personal details or not. What do you recommend?

On one hand if you register a domain with your correct personal info then the domain it is probably yours forever. I usually give back 10% to 20% of all recreated domains just out of goodwill because former webmasters complain. Then when the transfer transpires your personal details are exposed. Also, when you buy expired domains using your personal details you have to pass on the best opportunities. For example, there have been multiple occasions where I passed on buying former government and institutional sites because I was paranoid about my personal details. You do not want to recreate the former .ca RCMP site using your real personal details. These opportunities come around quite frequently. So I miss out on the best opportunities when I use my real personal details.

On the other hand using fake personal details has disadvantages as well. More and more domain registrars are asking for more information like a copy of your credit card. Payment processing with VCC and fake paypal accounts is becoming more difficult. I just got a letter from a registrar the other day reminding me to update my private whois info because the TLD regulatory body has the right to seize the domain if they can prove I used fake details. They are getting more sophisticated and using fake personal details can turn into a clusterfuck of wasted time.

What do you experts recommend?
