Right now for new websites I tend to write a whole bunch of 400-600 word solid posts, at least 1 day. Now for some of those posts I have great ideas like YouTube videos, infographics, more details, etc. The problem is that if I dedicated my time to writing a 2000 word posts with self made YouTube video, backed up by info graphics and photohopped images then I would be able to write about 2 posts per week.
My plan for now is to rank the keywords on my 400-600 word posts, but go back in later and refurbish them to the big posts whenever the website is starting to rank and get decent traffic, so that the traffic will share/like/comment/subscribe/etc
Is this a good way to go about it? I am afraid that if I start off with writing long posts that my website will be too thin, and no one is going to read them anyway, not in the first month.
