BHW & Advertisements

I've been away from BHW for a few months. Busy with working the nightmare that is 9-5 work.

Recently back and I was shocked to see the insane amount of adverts now covering BHW. I understand Damien needs to recoup on the costs of servers and so on, but this is a little over the top.

Feels like I've landed on geocities spam site from 1998.

Agree with you, but accepting it. Though, thinking that this massive banner plastering should be for the server costs only, is like the thought of a naive 14year old

BHW is a business at the end of the day OP, it's revenue comes from those "insane" amount of adverts, I think your exaggerating quite a bit too. I know if this was my forum I'd do the same if not more! As i say this is a business a pretty well run one at that. Heck Ive seen waaayyy worse on other such forums... You get to hang out here for FREE enjoying a wealth of information in a well run environment bare that in mind!

Kind of hypocritical to attempt making money online, yet whining when others do so (especially considering these ads aren't hurting you in any way, easy to ignore them or install adblock)

Google changing algorithms mostly every month with new updates,you see more and more BST threads but for the advertisements its necessary to run the site.

I don't even mind the ads. There are no popups, and the ads are relevant. What's the big deal? Imagine how empty the forum would look without them.

LOL if you are so keen to not view the ads then why don't you install ad block plus instead of whining around? Are you afraid of the owner making some money or do you not want to see them?

Well if you head over other places on online you will see thousand times more advertise then we have in here & those boring non relevant pop up ads are really boring!

The ads have never bothered me. Plus, I bet a lot of the are for services offered by members here. It's a win for BHW, the members who wish to market to their fellow blackhatters, and those people who need the services advertised. It seems to be a win for everyone involved.
