If you don't know what tool you want - do you at least know what you are tryting to achieve more specifically than "backlinks"?

If you don't - then I suggest no tools at all until you have a plan, then buy the tool which best allows you to action that plan - there are huge differences in approach and functionality. Not all "good" or "bad" just different tools for different approaches.
