The Journey from Dreamer to Pro

Hi Blackhat Citizens

This thread serves the purpose of showing a dreamers journey to becoming Pro.

I have a vision of me being an online business evangelist leading the industry as an entrepreneur and finnaly turning pro. I'm now still at the beginning of my journey(read my introduction post for that) and will be reporting my wins and losses along the way. I'm always thankful for help and recommendations along the way and hope that my journal inspires and helps others as I'm progressing.


My Plan to become an Online Business Evangelist

1. Creating income generating assets to sustain my lifestyle with one business model - minimum of $9'000/month after taxes earning up to $20'000/month for a stable income
2. Being profficient in creating online assets with different online business models
3. Being profficient in driving income from bought sites
4. Flipping online businesses for long-term-profit
5. Consulting people with my gained experience as a highly paid expert
6. Being an Online Business Evangelist - Leading the Industry

I'm still at step 1 now. My approach for this is to create a long-term income starting with the help of the Forever Affiliate Model by Andrew Hansen. I'm going to stick with this model until I succed for at least the next 6 months.


Current Ressources

• Investment of 500 USD on my journey each month
• A decade of dedication to my goal
• A Lifetime of dedication to my goal if it takes me longer

Current Assets

• 3 Adsense Sites 1 generating 7$ a month (bought from the empire flippers's "Empire Starter Packs Pro" for $279)
• 5 Mini-Affiliate Sites in creation
• 9 Piggyback-Affiliate Sites in creation

As I've yet to see anything non-shady (or worthwhile for that matter) about Mr. Hansen. SO there's your first mistake! (Or rather crappy marketing ploy if you're just promoting crap like that)

Seems like a good plan. Make sure you stay focused on your goals and you'll achieve them in no time. Also I suggest you use an actual diary to write your todo list for each day - it helps with productivity.

Hi Alpha. - It interests me why you are calling his stuff crap. I'm certainly not promoting his course, it's not like he would pat me on the back for mentioning him here or something.. It's just the program I'm working with now and am pretty confident with I don't know if it's worthwhile in the eyes of one that has been in IM for longer but it serves me well as one that has yet to make a significant income online.

My strategy to creating income generating assets is one that I have seen a lot of internet marketers follow and that is also layed out in the course I'm following right now.

• I find a product that is being search a lot, and has low competition(under 40% to 50% on moz)
• I write a review article that I'm putting on Piggybacksites(Squidoo, Blogger, ..)/Mini-sites(3-10 articles on the topic)/Authority-Site(when I find a profitable product niche and have gained experience)
• I stick the the article to the top of the mainpage of my mini-site(thesis 1.8 theme)
• I build links with commenting(up to 50) in my first month with simple branded and www anchor tags
• I submit my site to 1 to 3 high PR directories
• I build some stronger links in the next month
• When the product is generating profit I'm going to target the product keyword with more articles, different sites and videos

Best of luck on your journey, OP.

I'd really recommend creating some sites from scratch yourself to get a feel for it before moving up the value chain of buying/selling sites. You need to know how they work before you take on something bigger than you can handle, of course!

After getting distracted with client projects I finnaly got to focus on my journey from dreamer to pro. What especially helped me was that I found a partner(an old friend) who was willing to work with me on this project.

Last week I had a historical event. I made my first (bigger) bucks online. 388 USD in one week!

What I did:
1. I created Mini-Sites(in total 5) around a product, containing 5 articles - 1 product review article(sticky post on the homepage) and 4 product and niche related articles. Each article has 1000 words.
2. I started a PPC campaign for the 5 mini-sites with bing promoting the product review article, bidding on product name keywords.
3. I implemented Google Analytics Event-Tracking Scripts and also generated Google Analytics Campaign-Tracking-Parameters so I could track with which campaign was making me money and on which affiliate link the people clicked on my website.
4. I made my first two affiliate sales(from one mini-site and one product) online within the first hours of the Bing PPC campaign earning up to 200 USD!!

This is only the beginning and I'm looking forward to improve my PPC campaign, to start link building for organic google traffic and to create a nice passive income for another step in my journey from dreamer to pro.

My Questions:
1. What automated link building Strategy would you recommend to increase the organic traffic for my mini-sites? (I'm going for the matthew woodward tutorial for now)
2. What other traffic sources would you recommend for a product review site beside search engine traffic(organic and paid, google and bing/yahoo).

Nice, congrats on your small success. May I know how many $ were you paying per click for Bing PPC and how much you spent in total?

As for link building, if you are looking to keep the sites for a long term, I would think it is still better to build your links manually rather than finding an automated solution. Start with maybe Web 2.0s, just 1-2 Web 2.0s per day and you would have 60 good links without having to worry about any kind of penalty or other issues. Just my opinion though of course.

I was paying 1.39$ per click on Bing and spent 23$ at that time.

I'm manually doing blog commenting and social media profiles now, i will start creating web 2.0 backlinks this week.

In the same time i'm going to promote piggyback sites with automated tiered link building just to test the offers and the conversion rates.
