[NOT EXACTLY A RANT] GSA SER is the devil!!

From my experience with the software if you do not use it with care you will either get no results or bad results. If you put the burner on max you are just going to burn what you try to cook. It is used to automate a manual process, not the answer to everything. Be careful of the settings. Also you need software to work with it too I am using GSA Captcha breaker with it and as others have said you should use a scraping tool to find links to post too instead of the software finding places to post. That part I didn't do yet. Looking for good scraper software to buy at the moment.

@alternatesword: usually the highest i rank is page 5. Even on very long tails.
@whitepassion: lol i bought it on july 1st or so. And yes, ive read a lot about it, and supposedly with what i am doing, i should see decent results. And yes, ive heard about people only using gsa ser to rank.

@Execute: ive tried both, onpy manual backlinks and only using ser to post articles as well as other platforms. Every article is uniquely done and all manual backlinks are hq and readable.

That is really unlucky then, sounds like you are doing everything correctly. Do you know if you are doing a good job with on-page optimisation and judging the competition?

Just because some niches may require a few high quality links from guest posts or high PR links, which are quite hard to get from GSA.

@herpderpslerp: i truly understand that man. I mean, if you could rank anything with ser, it would be underground and omly being used by a handful of people :)

@Execute: yeah, it seems that is the problem, buddy. Idk what to do right now, literally ive tried everything ive read here without any decent results :L

SEO is a weird field, in that you don't get instant results or 'instant gratification'. You said you worked hard for 2-3 months with no results, but theres people building sites for years before they see any revenues. SERP changes can happen quickly or painstakingly slow, and the irony of it all is the harder you try to speed the process of ranking up the more likely you'll end up penalized and not ranking at all. It's a patience game, a thinking game - rather, it's a Strategic game. If your strategy from the start was to build shitty links w/ automated tools because you saw people on BHW were doing that, then you lost the game before you started. Luckily you can re-roll and go w/ a more refined and effective strategy in the future.

PS: GSA is irrelevant in this conversation. We are all our own devil.

GSA SER is like Microsoft Word.

Word allows you to write, and it has tools to help you spell check, etc. But it's up to you to write a great book. GSA won't rank you #1, it's just a tool and a very good one for its price.

@OP pm me if you want to test my linkbuilding system in near future. Alpha version should be ready in 1 month, beta in next 1 month.

You might want to head over to GSA's official forums. There's a lot of resources and info there.

Also, are you tracking your keywords?

@proseo_show: dude, as ive said 3-4 times here, i understand that gsa ser is not a 1click way to rank. I also have said that ive tried manual backlinking without any success. The kwsi am targetting are quite low cometition man, thats why i know i should have already started to see results. Im not going for big KWs yet man, im still targetting very low competition kws and very long tails.

Actually im much more patient than you imagine, because i play poker and i undestand why patience pays in the end. And this thread is not about ranting, but trying to understand what i am doing wrong, fix it and start getting decent results bro.

@barto: 4th or 5th time i say it man: i understand that, but even after NOT using ser, im not gettin results.

@satyr: i will pm you in a sec.

@kin: thats exactly where i copied the gsa ser blueprints, without success. Even this morning, i opened a thread HERE. And no, i dont track my kws :/ ($$$$...)

I would say 99% of people who use SEO tools use them because they think just by setting up a few campaigns and making lots of links they will rank. They blame the tools because they don't rank their websites.

what you should do is use the tools to automate what you would do without the tool. get a strategy that has been proven to work and then use tools like GSA SER to automate it.

I admit I use SER a lot but I don't use it with the mindset "I'm making so many links so I should rank well because I have it set up as best as it can be" instead I use it to automate parts of my link building, like adding more power to my tier 1 links (most of my tier 1 web 2.0 have about 80K links to them and are all PA60+, this was done just by GSA SER and its great for passing on link juice), or experimenting with mass spam.

@cool.dude: i know what you are saying bro, and thats the exact mentality that drove me to buy gsa ser. I mean, EVEN on sites that i havent used ser on, i havent ranked! With that being said, idk whats the problem, or why i am not ranking, buddy.

My serps of french one page niche site - about 500 words of french content, totally no on-page seo, 1 video and 1 image, nothing else, got to the top in less than a month. I'm sure this site won't survive the upcoming update and it can drop overnight but first of all - it is my first .fr domain, secondly - as I said before - this page serves no value and bounce rate is ~ 50% but it's still at good positions. As you can see monthly searches are very low, but this site gives me 100-200 uu from France, which is very valuable. If I would say you to use the tactic that I used without showing you the proves then you probably wouldn't say it's possible to get to page 1 with this approach. So GSA is not the problem - it's you :)

Damn dude, you want to rank and you don't want to spend money on tracking your keywords - are you kidding me ? It's like saying you wanna lose some weight but you won't use scale and mirror. It's so crucial. You are not going to achieve something worth saying wow when you are not able to do basic tasks.

@grax1: then again: i have tested without using gsa ser and ive not ranked man. Idk what i am doing wrong, pal.

I opened this thread not to rant a little, but to gain some insight on what i may be doing wrong.

And regarding the kw ttracker, i cant invest more than what i do every month pal. Really, the things that keeps me alive on yhis game is this 2009 blog and poker (which earns me around $100-$200/m). What i want to do is succeed on IM! Im nkt quitting because of some random dude tells me i cant afford "basic" tasks...

Serpfox lets you track 10 keywords for free. Use it.

If you're not tracking your keywords you're pretty much blind when it comes to tracking your progress and finding out what works and what doesn't.

I'll hit you up on Skype tonight if you're on and try and help you figure out what's holding your sites back in the SERP's. I struggled for a long time to understand what I was supposed to do to rank sites, and was quite discouraged about IM for a long period of time, but I stuck w/ it and am learning everyday - Now that I've got a better grasp on the methods and practices I'm able to rank pretty much anything that I'm actually willing to put the effort into, so this shit isn't all just pipe dreams, IM profits are really an obtainable goal - and normal people like you and me can get in on it. Anyways, I'll get with you soon and we'll see if we can't bump your sites up the ladder a little.

i only used GSA ser as tier2 or tier3 links....
there sole purpose is to increase the index rate and link power

I have never used them as tier 1s...

I only used links that are not accessible by everybody for TIER1s...

1 cent advice.. Try doing that...

You don't need money to track keywords, make account on SERP Checker and you can track 25 keywords per domain, 12 domains if you want.

That's also what I've heard, but there are people that have told me it also works as tier1

You know you can rank sites with barely any backlinks at all.

Find some good keywords that are buying-intent keywords, where the person who typed it in certainly wants to buy it. Stay away from exact product names, more focused on the general description of the product. For instance, instead of shooting for "Frigidaire 8,000 BTU Window Air Conditioner", you would try for "buy aircon with dehumidifier".

There's 2 reasons for this. The first is that every single store out there are all trying to rank for the "Frigidaire 8,000 BTU Window Air Conditioner", by default. They make a product page, they stick the product name in the title. Not a single one of them has even thought to try to rank for the buying terms that someone types when they're not exactly sure what they want.

Second reason for doing this, if they type in "Frigidaire 8,000 BTU Window Air Conditioner", they know what they want already. They're going to the #1 SERP (which looks like Amazon, Walmart, Lowes, Fridgidaire, Best Buy).

But, if they typed in "buy aircon with dehumidifier", that means they don't know what they want. They will actually surf the SERPs and you could get an interested buyer click on your site even if you're in the teens.

Next, you write the best damn article on the internet comparing the top five dehumidifying air conditioners.

Get yourself set up with Google+, so that your pen name picture will show up in the serps and increase your click-through ratio.

With that alone (and no backlinks), you'll get traffic and sales. I create a nice web 2.0 property every other day to link to the site.

Then, if you need to later on -- juice the web2.0s with GSA.

Keyword research is vital. Pick highly profitable stuff with a combined 400 to 1500 exact searches. (Like if widget (singular) is 170, widgets (plurl) is 170, buy widget is 50 and your profit on a sale will be $40+, you're probably going to get at least one sale a month. That's over $1 per day per article you've got.

I like to use a title that has the buying phrase and then has some kind of ending that generates curiosity. Like in the serps it'll look something like "Buy aircon with dehumidifier, She said the humidity ..." -- someone reads a title like that in the serps it generates curiosity. She said the humidity what? Hmm I got to check that out.

Heavily curate your articles. If you type in your buying phrase, you should come in to the top 100 results with zero backlinks. If your article isn't even in the top 200 ... it means you keyword stuffed and didn't write a very good article (you didn't reference related terms for the content). Go back and adjust it so your article naturally falls within the top 50 at least. I keep my combined keyword density under 1.5% (so the plurl and the singular keywords of the same term, I don't go over 1.5% for both combined).

All the articles on your site should be somehow related. Every article you write should be able to link to another article on your site ... the most related article. Then, after you write your article ... go back to other articles you've previously written and stick a link from that old article back to your new one. Each article should be linking out to at least two pages on your site, in-content. Immediately after you write it, you should get at least 2 links to that page from older articles.

After you've written 20 articles, those pages that were coming in at #30 are now ranking in the teens, under the weight of your own internal backlinking alone -- with zero external links. For this to work, every page in your site has to be of a high enough quality that it ranks for its keywords -- any page that doesn't rank is dead weight. If after 3 revisions you still can't get an article to rank in the top 50 with no backlinks ... delete it or completely rewrite it.

While you're building the site, make a decent web2.0 property every other day or so. By the time you have 100 articles, you should have at least 50 web2.0 properties. That's basically just 1 backlink every 2 articles ... hardly anything.

With 100 articles, you should be top 10 for every article on your website. Your goal should be to make at least $1 per day per article. If you targeted a 400 exact keyword, and you're in the top 10, you should get at least 100 visits to that page a month and if you targeted products where you're making at least $30 per sale, that's $1 per day.

At $100 a day, thats 3 grand a month. You should be able to sell the site for at least 12 to 16 months of income, which is a lot.

This route is a hell of alot of work, but requires very few backlinks and makes your site extremely stable. Near the end, you can start juicing all your web2.0s with GSA if you like, and those teens-ranked articles will all become top 10.

If you're shooting for higher competition keywords then add some expired PR domains to the web2.0s and write nice articles on them leading to your site.

I didn't mean to tell you to give up man, definitely not, I'm just saying that trying to achieve good position without actually watching your serps for different keywords doesn't make much sense. It's crucial to see what's going with your site's positions while you are trying different approaches
