Hello everyone, I'm toughtrasher and this is my very first journal. I know, I've been on BHW way too long, yet I haven't made any journals. This is my very first one so I'm pretty excited in updating you on what I'll be doing. Anyways, I have a few notes for you if you're going to subscribe to my journal, and they are helpful notes (beneficial for you).
Notes:
- I still attend school. I know! I'm young! But this also means I'm going to be extremely busy, considering I go to a top school in my state. Homework is a biat*ch I know
But my grades are my priority, and after averaging a 2.9 unweighted GPA last few years, I really want to get it right. So bear with me in that regard. There may be days where I don't update this thread, mainly weekdays, so keep that in mind before following my progress.
- I do get a little distracted sometimes. This is a huge reason why I wanted to create my first journal, so I can get motivation from the greatest people on the world (besides family
). Thanks in advance!
- Again, I'm young and considering my join date and post count, you'd figure I knew a lot of stuff. Well there is an infinite amount of information I need to know to really gain a lot of money. So I'm willing to learn throughout this journal.
Okay, right to the journal
What I am going to (try) to do:
- Sell a service
- Buy a website to sell the service
- Get an ecommerce theme so it's easy to purchase my services.
- Create a blog section within the website and write about stuff pertaining to my niche/service. The blog is there for content, which helps rank the blog.
- Use SEO on my website (I'm not really good at this...) to gain rankings and thus traffic.
- Use social media; create a Twitter account & FB profile (maybe) for the website/service.
- Get money through the service & some ads.
I think that's it.
Main walls I have to jump over:
- SEO. Huge problem for me. I do own purchased copies of GSA Search Engine Ranker, Scrapebox, and Traffic Travis so I could use those to my advantage.
- Workload. Another large problem. I have school to worry about but I'm not going to give up
There will be a ton to do, including updating the website, making posts every so often, SEO, building the site, etc. Any help would do. xD
Well, that's all I've thought of so far.
Since I'm already making progress, here's my Day 1 (today):
DAY 1
What I've done:
- Researched EMD keyword pertaining my service
- Found a list of easy-competition keywords related to the original EMD.
- Bought a $0.99 three-word domain from Godaddy.com via this coupon code (http://www.blackhatworld.com/blackhat-seo/domain-names-parking/556779-get-godaddy-0-99-coupon-apr-2013-a.html)
- Set nameservers to my Hostwinds hosting account (currently 4 domains, can't afford unlimited just yet, so I had to remove a different domain just to host this one...)
- Installed Wordpress to it.
Next To Do:
- Figure out how to remove the GoDaddy website builder on my website. It currently has it installed and I want to have it Wordpress instead.
- Install an Ecommerce theme for easy purchasing
- Find JV partner (PM me if you want) ~ MODS please remove this section of the post if not allowed)
- Install my main plugins that I install on all websites
- Create a post regarding my niche
- Get all set up.
Questions I have:
- How do I get rid of the GoDaddy website builder? I'll PM you the website IF you're a trusted member here, because the website is an EMD...
- Do you know any exceptional great ecommerce theme for my needs?
- Anything else I should do?
I get back to school from the weekends tomorrow, so I may or may not be able to post or get some work done.
Thanks for reading everyone!
Hope I can get this right!
Step by step goals for this journal:
- Get up to $10/day just selling this service.
I know it's just a small goal, but it's easier to accomplish and when I finish, I'll try to scale it up to around $20/day, $50/day, etc.
