Hey guys, I'm gonna start doing this too.
I found a niche with an EMD, with around 2 500 local searches, high cpc, high advertisers competition and the seo competition is below 30 (according to Long tail pro). I think the stats are ok, but the niche is about selling a car brand.
Do you think it's good for a start? Thanks.

There's nothing Google hates like an empty site..
So indexing with ZERO content its not a good first impression..
post 5 to 6 articles/pages of content and try to index..

So far I have explained how to find appropriate keywords and how to check your real competition.
Now if you already did that and found something interested for you, let's put it live / indexed and let's rank it!

I will start with keyword which i mentioned in one of my posts

I bought a domain and i hosted that domain already.
I installed WP and as you can see my site isn't indexed yet.


So first i will make some web 2.0 properties with unique articles, images and video. My 2.0 blogs will look real and will bring me great link juice for start.

Once my domain is indexed i will put 5 high quality articles and will index them too.

1. For start one article, but by time i usually have around 20-30 articles, to look like a real blog.
2. They are also unique and scraped.
3. At the moment i found another keyword which is also very good, and i will continue this journey with 2 sites.

Both sites are already indexed, and i will put more backlinks now.
Next thing is press releases.


Update coming with new ranking, exact number of indexed backlinks, coming strategies etc.

Greetings to all.

I've been reading the forum for about a week and decided to register. IM has been on my mind for the past year but I've always been overwhelmed by the sheer amount of info and I never got around to it. Reading this thread and the other one by bluematter finally motivated me to take action(thank you both).

It seems that I'm off to a bad start though. I began with the first step, keyword research, but as I understand it the google keyword tool has just been replaced by something else. I'm completely new to this but from what I understand the new program has lost some of the features of the old one and is also harder to use.

I feel like an idiot asking for things when I'm not even 5 minutes in, but seeing as the old method is unavailable, can some help me out with an idiot's guide to keyword research that's hopefully as effective as the old one?

Hi Dude I'm new too, and I was thrown off by the new keyword too (keyword planner). Natural and normal. I said "what is this!" but it's not really a huge change. They actually tried to make it better. Not sure if they succeeded.

But what about all the other articles on your site. I just read above that you will probably end up with around 20 articles on your site, so are they all long tail keywords also.

1-2k searches per month, or less, or do you target larger keywords.

Hope this makes sense.

I will put my all effort on 1 keyword but in the meantime i will try also to get ranked for few really easy keywords too, more traffic more money.
All in all i will get ranked much easier with more content, google really appreciate that.

I've got my hands on a MNS and haven't added more than 4 articles so far but Adsense is growing nicely. My business takes place offline but some online profit doesn't hurt either haha.

Perhaps with some added content it will jump higher. Took months of SEO but it's worth it.
