As a starter in the SEO world, friend promised to help me by sending world traffic, but mostly north america, to wherever I want.What would be the best way to monetize this traffic? I've been thinking about creating a 9Gag clone website or something similar, and add 3 or 4 CPM banners, but not sure if it would work on CPM, or how much could it generate per month.Any advice?What would you do with close to 1 million unique visitor from semi-targeted traffic?Cheers.

Well are these targeted unique visitors? You can easily sell ad space depending on the niche and your server costs of the website.
Adsense is a good alternative. But also do not rely on one source of income for the site.

why don't you go with adsense instead of looking for some other advertiser.
I don't have an Adsense account. Currently opening an account with Cliksor.
Server costs wont be much as I have a colocation rack where I can add a server that can handle a website with such traffic and run it on less then $100.
I'm not sure about the origin of this traffic that he's offering me, but I guess it comes from excess of traffic that he has in a few websites, or some popunder.

what if it comes from a particular niche?
Nothing wrong with using adsense for niche sites just as long as it complies with Adsense terms.
Targeted traffic = money for both adsense and advertiser.

Than either go with a website in that niche and monetize it with adsense of cpa offers related to that niche.

If its social media it ok with adsense even with cpa offers but the conversion would be quite low but its bots its of no use i guess.It would just boost your alexa rank thats it.
