What is the purpose for selecting more than 1 keyword(s)?

I'm using a service that says I can use unlimited keywords with 2 link maximum. My main keyword ranking is easy to rank for. What is the purpose of using multiple keywords when my main keyword is supposedly so easy to rank for?

The other suggested keywords are not even related to the main keyword and I dont really want to rank for them. Thanks to all who can explain this

that's it? lol, that makes since lol. Is there any determining factor WHICH keyword ranks first? or does it depend on the
order you give the service provider?

If you do your keyword research, you should find related terms with traffic. By pulling them into the page (targeting more than one keyword) you get the accumulated traffic, instead of just the traffic for one keyword.

If you concentrate on one keyword when link building in the eyes of google it looks spammy... It will then cause a penguin filter to kick in and will prevent you from ranking on page 1... So you have to use long semantic keywords which are related to your keyword as well in order to rank... Remember that google needs to see natural link building... therefore you expect when someone is linking or referencing your site they will use anchors like "link here" "see this" not "Black & "Decker Drills" for instance... Plus using long semantic keywords will help you rank for other keywords which could be related to the users search...

As the above said, ranking for more equals more traffic, but also; keyword diversity is an important thing. A backlink profile with just 1 keyword anchor isn't natural, and leaves you open to penalty.

Normally the keyword with the least amount of competition ranks first, as mentioned above do keyword research and attempt to rank for multiple keywords. As a rule of thumb never attempt to rank for more than two keywords per article, 1 is optimal.

thanks guys for your answers tryin to get my youtube videos on page 1 of google, now that there on page 1 of youtube. I'm actually quite tired of fiverr, as you can spend 50 or 60 bucks on gigs that dont work. That's money
better spent one time especially if Id see results. The backlinks, linkwheels and pyramids ain't cutting it, and I have EASY keywords
