Here's what I would personally do. But ultimately, it's your own decision.
I would register a domain for like what? $5/year with a coupon.
Something like http://www.(insertcompany)engagedinblackmail.com
I would only do it if they actually engaged in blackmail of course.
Then I would put my story on there (without making up any lies)
I would sent it to them, and tell them I will forward it to all their investors, the press, and every consumer organization unless they abide by the law.
If it doesn't work, I would take them to court.
Hey guys, I am fed up with yelp. The usual story after they call, you say no to their B.S. advertising and only negative reviews show up.
What do you do?

Why do you guys say "rely on other traffic sources"? Businesses DO NOT HAVE A CHOICE because Yelp almost always appears on top and a negative rating will prompt almost everyone to immediately look at the particular business' competitors.
I'm a bit biased, I offer a service for positive reviews and I can also remove negative reviews. In my experience handling hundreds of local businesses as clients, an improved rating can ensure more leads from Yelp which is an immediate ROI for brick and mortar businesses.
