What music do you listen to while IMing?

Like LakeForest said above music without words. That is what I listen to while working. At least for the most part sometimes tracks will have some words in them but their not constantly singing.

Some post rock is good like Explosions In The Sky or God Is An Astronaut. Post metal as well like Russian Circles. Sometimes these genres can be a bit much like I don't work to GY!BE.

And of course electronic music in general like Pretty Lights, Ratatat, A State Of Trance, Lindsey Stiring (vilion + electronic), Mosh and a bunch more.

Have you tried music without words while you work? Electronic, classical, instrumentals?

I found that isn't too distracting, but a bunch of words thrown at you while you code or write can be tough, especially when you're wearing headphones and the words are right in your ear

I am not very productive while listening music, I am focusing on that too much. I found that for me work much more "a natural noise", as is in the coworking space where I work or in Starbucks.

If I am working from home, I put into the headphones a lecture/speech/spoken word generally.

When I'm working I prefer having no vocals in the music I listen to. When I turn into a complete robot while working I prefer something with a higher BPM, I always try to keep up with it while I'm typing or flying through different windows.

It depends on what work I'm doing. If I'm writing or doing something that requires concentration then I listen to Thomas Newman classical music or other like artists. I love him though.

If I'm doing something that doesn't require much thought like uploading videos, building websites then I put on trap music. Rap music that talks about money. It makes me motivated
