What music do you listen to while IMing?

Do you listen to music while working on your IM?

Sometimes I feel like it helps me be more productive but then other times I find it distracting depending on how tired I am and what task I'm doing.

Thoughts?

Have you tried music without words while you work? Electronic, classical, instrumentals?

I found that isn't too distracting, but a bunch of words thrown at you while you code or write can be tough, especially when you're wearing headphones and the words are right in your ear

Tonnes of people listen to music such as classical while studying/working etc. and say that it helps them so that's not true for everyone.

Car music: Rock and Hip Hop

This sort of music doesn't interrupt your concentration.
Also you don't have to skip that awful song in your playlist that you've come to hate, but can never get around to deleting.

Music without/with very little words is best for me.

Also the same song on repeat, as eventually it seems to meld into the background, but keeps you focused, almost like a war chant.

I love listening to long trance mixes by Armin Van Buuren, Tiesto, and guys like that. They work wonders for making time fly.

I listen to both with words and without. Because I know the lyrics I don't pay much attention to it. But they remove the sound coming from the outside and I won't be distracted by dogs or cars.
I like rap, electronic, Bosnian songs.
