YouTube New Comment System Discussion!

Oh this is going to be interesting. I have been making a really good living out of yt commenting since almost a year now and I was decently scared of this update. Now that I see it, there seem to be so many possibilities especially with the live url implementation.

HOLY SHIT, what was google thinking bringing back live urls!????? I most certainly hope they dont switch back again after a few weeks thinking their new commenting system alone is enough to prevent any advertisement spam, we'll see.

I'd actually like to set up a list of the major obstacles that the new commenting system has brought and those we have to look out for.
Also, if anyone is interested I'd like to start a small task force consisting out of experienced youtube commentors that have been making good money with commenting before. Let me know if you are up for it, I am already sitting together with another experienced member and in my opinion it does help to share ideas. Now let me be clear this is not supposed to get people to find out niches or methods, so these kind of questions are completely forbidden. Of course I totally understand that there are many of those experienced enough to do it on their own I just think having two or more working on the same problem, often helps to come up with a better idea and I think in the end everyone benefits from it.
So in case you did make a living out of yt commenting for a while and you are interested in collaborating, pm me :)

In any case, looking forward to new earnings coming along with the update ;)

All the best!

Ensili

Hey guys, am i missing something here? Isn't the top comments you see actually different from what others see because of the new relevancy system?

For example #1, a guy with many videos of marvel superheros in his channel post something in the new Thor 2 trailer video with a few likes is most likely to overtake a random comment with highest likes from a account with little to no relevance to the Thor video. (relevant comments)
example #2 a person with multiple videos on a certain artist in his channel write a comment on Thor 2 video, people that has liked that person's videos before and/or has like/or subscribed to the same/similar artist on other channels/videos most likely going to see those comments in the Thor video. (recommended comments)
example #3 someone writes a comment and people in their friend lists sees those comments at the top (social comments)

So basically even if you manage to upvote your own comments and make it appear as top on your screen it might not be what people sees as well. Also, even if your comments manage to make it top in general without your own account preference(viewed without sign-in), it might still not appear as what others sees due to their own account preference/recommendations.

Or am i wrong with this? Does anyone exactly knows how the systems works?

People who are not logged in will not see top comments. they will see latest comments. People logged in may only see people who are more relevant to them, in terms of their friends [ if they are in your circles.] We have to see how we can get to the top universally without being in user's circles. if possible. if not, then we are doomed. [ still testing]

I Think thats exactly how the new system works, tho we might still be able to rank on top for people who aren't signed-in.

It is really interesting. They give most value to comments from video creators and than people with most circles in G+ together with likes on G+ AND youtube connected. Really interesting. Those spam coments will not come far now.

*mini related rant*

Its crazy, once i finally found a working profitable method after months of trying, i finally started to bank with a method. I went from noobie to a growing success story. But thanks to youtube commenting being changed, i just went from making 200$- 300$+ per day to 0$ per day again, starting today. :'(, back to seo, back to paid traffic, back to trying to "rank videos" that will be flagged by the drop of a pin lol.

hopefully we can find a way around this, because I was a on a roll these past 2 weeks. I guess its time to finish creating my "digital product", and use the money i've made to promo it , or go back to failing at FB ads. lol.

What? People who are not logged in will not see top comments but latest comments (the old layout)? I can't confirm that based on my testing. Independant of browser and/ or ip/ proxy I am always getting the top comments as the fixed layout first. If I want to switch back to the old one I have to do it manually; again regardless of being logged out or logged in.

my apologies, it may have been my browsers. I just checked on a completely new device, and I do see top comments without being logged in. im relieved temporarily. lol. let's test guys, so we can get up and running again

Guys, this is not a smart move to discuses about this major change in public.

This is a serious business.

i tried to spam with bitly link , and work fine , nothing captcha for moment, 30 comments

Now you post anything, a short link, any domain extension, your site, your own channel o video link on comments. This will bring plenty of users to promote their site , channel , new video...

I was making also 300 bucks / day on the old layout. Making good money is still possible on the new system but get ready to see the biggest amount of spam from noobs trying to advertise whatever because of the new live link policy. Specially on popular videos

change ip , log out from the account you are using to spam and refresh cookies to see if those links are alive.

That G+ alongside the the user's comments is so annoying.

Oh wow comment with live link :D
I'm so happy to know this update now we can spam YT to force our vid on top :P

I love this new update. Making more money just got easier.

I wouldn't say that. Now with every Tom, Dick and Harry who don't know the abc's of obfuscation promoting their links on every vulnerable video will make it harder for us and perhaps bring a more serious decision from YouTube. Below is an example of this.

so I'm reading that spamming is now successful, but is top commenting still successful?

The other good part other than live link is. You can edit your post anytime! So you post a relevant comment so people will not suspect it to be spam then when its popular from time to time edit it then add your link. Just tested it and you can get away it.

G+ circles followers would be the next big thing. Looking forward to it on BHW BST
