Today YouTube launched the new comment system. You can check it out here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tf3oHCWMIjE

Things I noticed:
- You can now add live URLs to comments
- Top comments no longer have their own section
- Looks like comments posted X amount of time ago can be thumbed up.

Yes I've seen a few YT channel that are using the new system already. I think this is something we shouldn't worry about. It's all good...

Yea. It's pretty much the same thing. Live links pass through Google first so keep that in mind everyone.

From what I understand, this is just one more step into forcing people to link a Gpage to their channel because without a Gpage, you can not comment on videos.

Start building your g+ circles to make top
View comments

Comments you care about show first. You'll see comments at the top of the list from people in your Google+ Circles, from creators, and from popular personalities. Comments with many likes and replies will rank highly as well. Choose Newest First to see the most recent comments instead. Replies are threaded (like Gmail) so you can easily follow conversations.

The more I think about this, the worse it seems for the little guy.

I generally like to comment on videos for fun and have quite a few top comments done completely natural, which does generate me some views and subs, which most likely will be a thing of the past now.

This new comment thing will just be one more "paid/VIP" feature in order to be noticed on YT, specially since "top comments" is the default.
No clue how they are deciding what is top comment now, as there are no thumbs ups showing.

Well it looks like all the channels are now using the new system.

I like the fact that you can actually post links tho.

Yes, they are all using it! FU*K NEW YOUTUBE SYSTEM! How youtube decide which comments will be in top?

Seems like making money with the new system is much harder now. It's weird to see how a comment from 8 months ago is outranking one made 5 minutes ago...

Under my point of view youtube got tired of being the blackhatters paradise

This is just another plot to force G+ in our throat!

yeah, but boosting a G plus account for commenting does not make sense as now when they mark your conversation as spam it will automatically dissapear

How do you do this mate? I can't find it.

From what I see only comments posted less then 1 hour ago can be thumbs upped. Once you post your comment you will see a thumbs up and down appear.

You are right. The thing is blue now...

Thanks!

WOW! I thought this day would never come, where you can post a live URL in YouTube Comments. In my opinion, it will be easier to spam now. You do a comment, you do tons of thumbs up, the more thumbs up, the higher you will rank on top comments.

Seems to be any comment can be voted, we just need to figure out how to get it to where you can vote for the comment:

Even if you select Newest First, by default it will go back to top comment first. What we need to figure out is how to get to the top of the top comments. Kind of sucks that it doesn't show a stat.

Edit:
If you post via Google+ you can up/down vote comments. If you don't post through Google+, you can not rate a comment. Long story short, make all your accounts Google+ enabled and keep doing what you were doing. It will be easier to get your comment to stay at the top for longer if you have enough accounts and know what you're doing.
