Squidoo Still Useful For Ranking?

Web 2.0 properties like Zimbio rank so much higher than squidoo, why not replace Squidoo with zimbio as the main property (to juice)? Just a thought, what do you guys think??

Doesn't have to be Zimbio, it could be any property that ranks high.

I use several social media sites (including squidoo and zimbio) because you never know how the search engines will change. One month squidoo could be on top and three months later it could be a different site. It's best to use unique content on as many of these sites as you can. There will always be new sites showing up in the rankings and you need to be there to take advantage of it.

usually when i try to rank with web 2.0 properties, i create all the links and pages (squidoo, hubpages, zimbio, mixx, etc...) and then after some time i look which one ranks higher in google.

Let's say zimbio ranked the best:
Then that should be your main property, all the links from the other ones should be 2 way exit links (1 to your main sales page, and 1 to zimbio)

Zimbio will be the only one with 1 exit link directly to your main page.

Is anybody else noticing that Squidoo seems to be loosing its juice these days? Used to be a lot of Squidoo lenses showed on the first page for their keywords but I dont' see so many anymore. I haven't built any new ones myself for a while and I'm not sure if I'll bother with them as I get my next sites built. What have you guys noticed? Maybe zimbio is doing better right now.
