what is the point of no follow?
if you get a no follow backlink, is that exactly like the backlink didn't exist? it has no value?

I have a feeling it's a scam to make people stop spamming.

has anyone done any experiments? have you ranked a site with no follow link only?

Diversification, diversification op.
Many platforms will help you rank better than just nofollow links dude

I know, but the reason I am asking: I have found several PR6 non-spammed AA pages and I am not sure if I should waste my time with them.
again, I personally think no follow is bullshit and all links count. but not sure, maybe they really dont count.

The only difference between a follow and a nofollow is that the nofollow does not pass page rank. The SE's still follow the nofollow. If there is a link back at the other end, then PR may be passed, but if there is not, then PR does not follow. But, because of the emphasis on a link as a vote of confidence for the SE's, a nofollow is still a link. I have ranked pages with 90% nofollow.

The best way is to diversify your links, but if you think that to pay for no-follow links is a waste of money then spend your money only on do-follow links.
But remember that in the eyes of Google you should appear as much natural as you can, and I don't think that a site will get only do-follow backlinks in a natural way.

yeah OP, it's a scam. http://searchengineland.com/long-time-seo-jill-whalen-moves-on-praises-google-for-rewarding-content-more-175522?utm_campaign=socialflow&utm_source=twitter&utm_medium=social?

Just as an example take links from wikip**ia: They are worth so much that a real industry was built around it against which they take action now. You get those links for like ~$200. Yet they are nof**low.
Hence the question: Why would people invest serious amounts in worthless links?

i wouldn't worry about it, just keep building links and some will be no follow some will be do follow but its not lie a no follow is worth nothing

You need to stop thinking about differentiating between no-follow and do-follow. I agree with some of the posters above that authority links such as squidoo and wordpress will generate traffic . But everyone know that a link is a vote whether it be ******** or no follow...

no follow works for me like do follow ,i think is just bullshit

OP, let me answer you short. I understand that you might be lazy to create nofollow links, plus I understand that you don't want to waste a spin to a link that you beleive is worthless. However, you're not going to get a clear answer here.

I guess nobody made a clear case study with 100% only no follow links. All you will hear is speculation, because actually nobody really knows the answer, everyone builds ******** + nofollow links because it is beleived to be the natural way websites do get link, which means that there are some people who will tell you that they got great results with nofollow links but they also built ******** links too, so you can't come to a real conclusion.

So here are your choices mate :

1-Do a clear case study with only nofollow links . It's up to you if you want to share it here or not.
2-Don't build any nofollow links and take the risk of looking unnatural.
3-Build nofollow links along with ******** ones, I think that the "normal" ratio is 80%do/20%no

What I have learned so far is, Nofollow links does not pass any link juice. They are only helpful to get referral traffic. Also, I think nofollow links are very important to have a natural looking link profile at Google. Nofollow were invented to stop spamming as we can see squidoo became nofollow recently.
