What would you do with 55k web hosting clients database ?

i have a 55k web hosting client list from an ex web hosting company. now i wonder if i would sell that list or just find products to market to them.

so what would u guys if u had that ? looking forward for advises and ideas

you can make shitload of money if those 55k are active members in hosting world. Commissions for bringing new costumers to hosting companies- are huge.

Simple, sign up for a hosting affiliate program, then send them all an email saying "great deals on web hosting/first month free or wahtever" - you know all you have to do is convince them that they are paying over the odds with their current provider.

i have already started one with affiliate links from uk2group and other providers but the thing is i sent like 15k emails and got 2 sales!!!
and also using mailchaimp will cost money to send to that 55k like once a week to hook them up. but some are not happy about being spammed u know :/

Have a look at commission junction, there's lots of hosting providers on there.

As for your emails, do small tests until you get a better conversion.

Money making offers - ClickBank has tons of them. If you know how to craft your e-mail subjects and text then you're golden, especially if you sell them on to some offer that is a monthly course or something. Rebills = kah-ching!

You can offer SEO and IM services if you have their website details as well in the DB, even if they have sold the site, you can contact the current site owner pretending that the current contact person is the own site owner.

While good in theory, that's actually a horrible idea. Imagine converting 0.5% of his list, that's 275 clients he'd get overnight. I don't know about you, but in my book that's a huge overload, if he even tried serving a dozen of them or so. The rest could well end up being pretty pissed off. And if he tries to hire outsourcers, he'd face an organizational clusterfuck. The only way I can see this (potentially) working is if he outsourced the entire projects to another company, but even then it could turn sour.

I already got a good affiliate deals even pays more than CJ. but still they seem not trusting spams when it comes to hosting u know...

so i am thinking about other services/products that goes with their hosting.... so i can even try to sell more than one services per client..

i got SEO affiliate in 2 companies and gonna add their services to my site and mass email the list about it too... so they do the work i get the commission

OR, if you don't mind getting your hands dirty, get some reseller account(s) or even get your own dedi servers, make a nice looking website, and get those as recurring clients that host their sites with you. At 1% conversion you'll get 550 new clients at 5-10 per month. This can easily be flipped in a couple of months as the hosting business is one that keeps clients for long!
