Web 2.0 Directory Listing CMS?

I have a script on a Wordpress site but problem is the script is outdated and I can't find the updated version which fixes a lot of bugs (Directory Portal v3.7).

So now I'm looking for a really simple, elegant, visually impacting, web 2.0 CMS for directory listing.

Are there any free alternatives?

I want something free and looks nothing like those traditional, crowded directory listings.

I guess woocommerce provides one such theme for wordpress but good looking CMS cost money. Directory sites are not a good biz model now so no one bothers with free themes etc.

Not necessarily, Joomla, for instance, can look very simple or very elegant. It really depends on you. There are thousands of extensions for it.

if you really want a free directory.. you can create a directory in any good looking free wordpress theme.. just use this directory plugin
