Newbie; What is internet marketing ? Help ???

Hey guys; I have been doing PPD for almost 1 year now made a few thousands off it but It lead to me asking the fundamental question what is Internet Marketing and what are the different fields within internet marketing ?

This is what I think: Internet marketing is about selling products online for other people or selling your own product. ?

is it correct ?

What are the different fields of internet marketing ? and which ones make the most money ? How do people make around 20k a month is that selling other people's product ?

So here's what I think the different fields within IM:
-CPA
-PPD
-Adsnese
- ClickBank
