[testing in progress] post penguin ranking

I thought I would do a little test and share my results with the forum.

What this involves is 3 sites trying to rank for the same competitive kw:
Site1:this is a 301 from a site that was hit with penguin to a brand new domain
Site 2:this site was affected by penguin 2.1 and rankings dropped to 5th page - here I will just diversify my anchors with PR 3+ sites on Magic Submitter and some of my own PR sites.
Site 3:this is a brand new domain handed over to a seo service provider, not on BHW that I am testing out.

let me know what you think and advice you might have for this test.

getting everything ready and will start updating this thread with results from Monday.

Day 1 of testing:
Site 1:The redirect has been performed, all the content from the pinalized sites has been copied on transfered with the new site set to no follow, no index untill everything is ready, I have decided to also re-create this into a silo structure for now.
Site 2: I have created a Magic submitter campaign, created fresh new profiles and posted to PR3+ sites only, I have added 4 articles in the last 8 days so to make sure the panda is happy as well. Rankings have been dropping on this site as I have stopped all link building till now.
Site 3: New Domain has been registered and landing/ home page article of 1000 words has been ordered. Should hand over the link building to provider on Monday as soon as Article is uploaded and ready to go.

Hope we can get some learnings from these 3 sites, asks questions and add your experience as this will help more of us make $$$ after penguin 2.1.

Do all three site use the same backend/themes/plugins? etc..
Exact match/Non keyword domains ?
Same Hosting Server/IP ?

I appreciate the effort and future results from this test. I think it maybe somewhat difficult to pinpoint with absolute certaintly, however this is what test are for I guess.. I will be curiously following..

All 3 sites are wp based sites, similar themes and plugins, all 3 will be using a silo structure.

in terms of site names very similar, main kw with another word i.e. kw+site or kw+website

all sites are hosted on justhost, under different accounts.

Starting Monday I will start adding ranking data for 3 main kws

Sorry for the delay, just so many things going on!

Progress so far on the 3 sites:
Site 1: The 301 has been completed and the new site is live. The old site is still ranking on page 7 or so, no rankings for the new site. I have just copied the site, not added any new content so far, may do some posts when I see it climbing the ranks.

Site 2: this was the penguin 2.1 affected site, I have launched a MS campaign that only post to PR3+ sites! only does very broad anchor text kws that I got from google keyword planner, generic and brand kws. I will be running a new campaign towards the end of the week on a new template, with new profiles, and then start dripping links from my PBN. I am stating away from any main or secondary kws for this site as I want to see if the site can come back when building more broad anchor text and different ratios.

Site 3: I uploaded the site and added my Homepage content to the site, there is currently no aff links, just proper on page seo and a kw density of below 1%. Paid my SEO guy and back linking has started as of Today. I will not reveal my source as I will be reselling their service if I see good results.

hope that this helps a few people in a way that you can apply some learnings. When Penguin 1 landed, I spent thousands of $$ trying to recover my sites, when the better option would have been to start over, this journey is to see what strategy works best.
