Hello

My missus was featured on a video on someone else's channel for her music. She wanted to have loads of views, so she opened 100's of tabs and kept refreshing them all. I told her YouTube wouldn't like it, and I was right - her video is at the dreaded 301+ views!

It has been a month since it froze at 301.

I read somewhere that when the 'real' views gets over 301 it will start counting again. Does anyone know if this is the case?

That is exactly true, the viewcount is locked at 301+ because YouTube doesn't pay much attention to the view counter up until the 301st view. Then they freeze the counter and proceed to verify the viewcount.
Seeing as they can't "remove" the views they just leave it frozen until the video passes a certain number of real views.
That number isn't necessarily 301, might be more.

buy 5000 views and it should give it a boost past that 301 then the real views will come in

Buy some high retention views and maybe some like and/or subscribers. That should break the 301+. I fix these video all the time.

Cheers guys, didn't buy anything and it's just naturally started again

lol, there's no need to rush, calm down, people gonna watch it sooner or later, it should be something that people will search for so .. i don't think it's a good idea to fake your views, at least it doesn't change anything.

This is very true. Youtube is just like every other media platform "Give the people what they want"

Ha ha, I bet she thought she was so clever.;)
She sure did..
"Wow, check this, my views are going up"
"Google won't like that, it's not gonna work"
"shutup it's working"
"Trust me google aren't that thick"
"It's stopped d'oh"
