Need urgent help with selling an item!

Hey Man

i did exactly the same thing as you but with iphone 5 screen protectors

one thing i learned is that we (UK Sellers) cannot make a profit on these items because exporters in china will always beat you on price and there are hundreds of sellers on ebay from China all trying to compete with one another

yes ebay is now all about feedback and in order to start selling i have been told its best to have at least 10 feedback, which means spending some more money investing in your ebay store... you can buy 1p items and silly things for $1 to boost your feedback

the best thing to do with those phone covers is sell them in bulk once your store is up and running fully

the reason no one is looking at your item is because of one or more of the following:

1. the other sellers have more feedback
2. you dont have enough feedback to compete
3. your price isnt cheap enough
4. you keep editing your listing to make people find it, the problem with that is everytime you update a listing ebay has to put it through the database.. when you list an ebay item nowadays it goes into ebays database and is processed (minimum time is 24 hours) everytime you update the listing the database is refreshed so an additional 24 hours is added

(think theres more but minds gone blank)

i hope i covered everything :S

if you have any more questions just ask... im in the same boat as you lol

You probably said free shipping within the UK correct?
Well you see these Chinese sellers are offering free shipping worldwide, hence their sales.

Try selling them by auction, at least you'll get some more feedback and make back your initial investment.

Thanks guys for the quick replies! Good point about the worldwide shipping thing, perhaps I was to hasty in buying these :( although I'll keep trying.

How can a Business in china Give free Shipping Worldwide ?
They actually make a partnership with the local postal service. The postal service requires them to make a certain amount of shipping monthly (I have no idea what that number could be, but probably like 10k+) and they give them amazing prices as low as 8 cent! They actually pay for the shipping but the figure is so low that they don't list it in the sales thread but simply add it to the item price.

They can sell phone cases for 99 cent and make a profit because:
- Their shipping costs 8 cents
- eBay takes 10% free

This leaves them with 72 cents to cover both cost of the item, packaging and make a profit.

A profit so small Apple wouldn't wipe its ass with, but these people sell in the thousands! Drop by drop they fill their buckets.

I'm such an idiot now I have 20 iphone cases for no reason.

It happens, don't worry.
Follow the advice Duffers gave you and you will make your money back in no time.
You took a chance, now make it work.
In fact just buy a shit load more and car-boot/market stall them.

Worst comes to worst just hawk them round pubs or set up a fly-pitch Derek Trotter style.

Anytime you start selling you are taking risk. Just try to sell them off locally and work on improving your eBay account with more
feedback and age.
