Hey guys, I thought it was time for me to get serious and start a journey thread to make sure I reach my goal.

Here's a little about me

I have been in IM for the past year or so and I've dabbled a bit and experimented different methods while spending lots of money (at least $500 wasted in the past year) and I feel like I'm ready to get serious with a method. I have decided to set the goal at $5 a day. I know it's a bit low but I just want to see if I can achieve my goal and maybe get some advice along the way. Hopefully in the future I will be able to surpass my goal and achieve at least $10 a day (maybe in a year or so).
Here's a little about what I have done so far
I have invested $60 into a hosting plan, it's $60 a year but I get unlimited bandwidth and storage space, I spent $15 on a domain and private registration, and I've spent $24 on content for my site. So the total amount invested in this one site is $99 for now. I have $200 I am willing to invest in this site(for now, if I see it grow I will invest another $200). I am planning on buying some more content (maybe $100-$150's worth) and spending the remainder on seo services once my site has content and is aged a few months. I will have adsense enabled on my website, I have placed ads at the top of the page and at the bottom.
I look forward to all of the helpful advice and criticism I will receive.
I plan on updating this tread biweekly

Hey I do wish you luck! I will be following this thread as I love watching peoples journeys. Anyway I have a few tips I would like to recommend. I do not know what your niche is but $24 for two articles is pretty high. I would check out some services around the thread who are offering top notch articles for $1-$1.25 per 100 words. I would also look into maybe creating your own backlinks in the beginning to get an understanding of what people are actually doing as you may realize you could start your website by building backlinks yourself and investing your money in other services or more articles. Look forward to following your journey!

good luck OP, what hosting provider are you using?
I am using godaddy for hosting and domain registration.

Thank you for catching my mistake I edited it, I spent $5 on 500 words, $7.50 on 500 more words, and 11.50 for 700 words. I agree that I can find cheaper article writers but I am testing a few out right now before I actually choose a specific writer to write all of my content.

Content makes or breaks your site so that is a smart move! Good luck op.

First update
I received 20 hits to the website almost every day this week, I've been getting $0.80-$1.60 a day which isn't too bad.

.80 to 1.60 a day isn't bad at all for just starting out. I have a plan that's not really that different from yours, and I've spent hundreds of dollars in the past on stuff that didn't work, too. Even if you get up to 2 dollars a day, for most months that puts you at 62 dollars for the month, which is 62 more than you had before. Covers hosting, perhaps content purchases and such too. Good luck with your journey. I hope mine begins as well as yours.

This week I have purchased $27 worth of articles, I have a few product reviews and some more content for my site.
I have a few hundred left in my adwords account so I'll start adverting on there as soon as my site gets finished.
My hope is to get a few long term visitors, I checked my analytics and I have 10% visitors return, most of them are from a different country though (not the US). My earning have been $0 for the last two days.

Let us know how it goes and how your rankings improve! :) Best of luck OP.

Good luck to you
I also wasted almost $1000 in the past year, made some money but nowhere near enough to cover the losses.

I've wasted a few hundred but you learn from your mistakes, previously I didn't research my niche's and just dove right in. I'm hoping that I can make a profit.
Still watching the thread! Wishing you luck.
Thanks

Keep it up OP, really interesting to see what your investments will bring you :)
