How to monetize make-up tutorial site (and other make-up ideas)?

My girlfriend is good at and loves doing anything with make-up (like a lot of people, I suppose). I want to see if I can monetize this. I couldn't think of anything out of the ordinary, so I just thought I could have her film herself doing make-up tutorials and create a youtube channel for her. I'd also create a wordpress blog, post each new video, and then affiliate links to whatever make-up she is using in the videos.

Like I said, nothing mind-blowing, but I wanted to hear if you guys had any ideas on how to monetize this. I've got at least two friends on Facebook also doing the make-up tutorial thing, it just doesn't seem like they have the luxury of working with an IM'er. Their content is great and sites are good, I just don't see any method of monetizing their sites.

Create a twitter account and follow a few girls? They might take a peek and end up as your consistent follower.

Since I'm a girl and follow a lot of beauty gurus on Youtube I would suggest her to make her own Youtube channel and a website (just as you mentioned). Try following a few yourself and see what kind of videos are popular. Maybe make a second channel (which would be for product reviews, cooking, vlogging, etc) and cross promote them.

Open a Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Pinterest accounts and promote the channel(s) and website there too.

Sign up for an Adsense partner program on Youtube also.

Comment on other peoples videos, not only to promote your channels but also to make friends, always be kind and others will subscribe to your channels.

Videos that can get viral are the ones with some kind of TAG (example: my boyfriend does my makeup tag, the 5 minute makeup challenge tag...) and seasonal ones (example: halloween tutorials, monthly favorites, beauty and clothing hauls, OOTD - outfit of the day, anything with Christmas...)

If you can get few thousands of UV/month you can sell your own ebook.

If you get 5000 UVs / month and ebook at price $19.90 converts 1% of visitors = $995 / month.
It's not much but it can be scaled up.

I would suggest her to make more videos to get know, especially locally and after a year open a beauty salon of hers.

Then the money will flow in like crazy...

You could make some money selling videos to me.
I cant pay you much, $5 - $20 depending on the quality, but its an easy way to earn some quick extra cash.

I've client that has a local beauty salon, instead of hiring someone from Fiverr I would live to help a follow BHW fella.

Thanks for the offer. This project, if we are even going to do it, is still in the early stages and won't come to fruition anytime soon. I will certainly keep you in mind when we do get up and running, though.
