Hi

i am making website for my father local business. the business is listed in most of the local citation sites.

should i go and edit all the listing and add the website url in the business profile will it help in seo.

The website should match the website listed on the Google places listing right down to the "www."

the business name matches exactly . the company has the listing which are few year old but the website is recently launched

Just as SnakePliskin said, make sure you type the website EXACTLY as it is displayed in Google places (if you have this).
Then you're set and will certainly help your SEO.

Research NAP Consistency. (name, address, phone number) Should all be exactly the same.

This does make a difference, as I switched addresses with my B&M business from one place to another and back to the original address. Make an [email protected] and forward all email from that address to who it needs to go to. We also use a phone number that we can push to any phone number, so that won't ever change.

NAP should be same on all these places, Plus+GP, website on all listing directories website. Plus you also need a KML file for map submissions. I make and code each file by myself.

What I do is make a "master list" of all potential citations for the business. This usually results in around 200 for a USA business.

From there I do about 40-50 citations per month.

In 4 months time I took a plumber from nowhere to #1-2 for 6 of his main keywords. He has been there since then (a year or so ago)
