Lonely/Depressed from IM

You do know that alcohol is a depressant right? I'm sure alcohol is not going to help the situation.

Yes, trust me I know the ill effects of this horrible drug and I am trying to kick it. I'm still its bitch but not for much longer.

well, i have the same issue, but not that i don't have friend, just that i am tooooooooooooo lazy to explain what IM is.

I sometime wish, i could meet someone who share the same passion with me, in real world of course. :)

I fuckin' feel the same OP!! I now only speak to people on Skype, and I don't (can't) come out of our house when it's not necessary..well, just hang on for a year or two..

Funny enough OP, I've made a thread on this about a few weeks ago. Like someone said, the top gets lonely, heck the entrepreneurial life is lonely. I even PMed a member in this thread, asking if he was a solopreneur or if he actually works with other people.(just to see if he was feeling that loneliness)

Like someone said, go take a vacation or break, because it sounds like you're working way too hard and need a break. Solitary confinement is not a nice feeling, I went crazy just a few days ago from it. (skipped the gym and school for a week)

add me on skype bud. <3

This ^

I was gonna suggest you add some successful people on Skype who happen to share similar views to you. Keep each other in line. It works, trust me :)

You go to school and say you don't have social life ?! How's that dude, I had my best years in school, every day was like a holiday, lol.

Anyways, I know how you feel, but I'd rather work a lonely job than be broke, look at all those people, having shitty jobs, doing shitty work for $1-2 / hr, than compare your lifestyles.

IM is kind of lonely sometimes, but it can't depress anyone, if you love it, you do it with passion, high level of motivation & monkeys in papal :) If you make a LOT, go out and rent an office, hire small staff and work with them, it'll feel a whole lot better.

Go out sometimes, work out, meet chicks, fuck all night, do smth crazy once a week :D

Here you go :

P.s I don't think money is the most important factor of one's life, don't devote your whole time to it, take an hour or two for entertainment, even if it's a video game )

P.s.s I hate video games :D

I agree with lakim0 and unless things have changed schools still had lots of members of the opposite sex or the same sex depending on how you swing. IM is not your problem but it's your approach to your life. Get the hell out of the house and meet some people, exercise whatever, just stop whining in the lounge.

By the way some of the shittiest jobs I had actually had a lot of cute girls working there as well. Opportunity is everywhere!

If you are still in school, then you have zero problem meeting people, just make the effort; I know how most of your schoolmates might look like idiots that you have nothing in common with, but if you make the effort to actually talk to some of them, you might be surprised .... School is where you make your life-long friends, you don't want to miss that

I totally feel you. I've been in internet marketing for 5 years now and each year I'm becoming more lonely. I think that's really the downside with internet marketing. You dont have fellow workers the same way as if you're an employee etc. Maybe take a part-time job :)

Why not try to create professional friendship with clients? Idea which would benefit both parties + both parties are interested in making big money so both should be thrilled about brainstorming.

I have communication problems, i cant say a word eventough i have 100's answers to question and people can see that i have clearly a complete answer bubbling inside of me.

Anti-social makes you see negatives in everything which makes it even harder to approach people, i'm trying to hangout more often with my collegues and i should take my missys out more often and have picnic or something.

Being lonely sucks, and in Finland only way of socializing is to consume wast ammounts of alcohol, your basicly forced to drink as 95% of the people drink and if you dont drink you will feel like outcast when others are laughing at stupid crap.

One thing to kill selfmade boredom and lonelyness is to be creative and try to impress people with stuff you do, comforts a little when you see that people like stuff you do :)

Lol, same here in Sweden. You gotta drink to socialize. Too bad I only like orange juice. :)

lol, why is that so ? I socialize really good, am I always drunk or smth ? :D

It doesn't matter what kind of life you have, don't let anything ever make you feel down...

That's the kind of life every person live. I mean even those having a 9 to 5 job lives a more worse life... waking up early in the morning..jogging...taking bath....eating breakfast..then going to job...spending the next 7-8 hours working in a small cabin...returning home..watching tv...driking a can of beer...and then sleep...

You have a better options like you can go out any time you want.. There will be no tension of thinking that boss will cut my pay or some shit like this.

Everyone goes through this in IM at some point if they do the work from home thing. It's really a state of mind, and alcohol (despite what people are telling you here) is not really the problem, it's just making things worse. The real problem is how you view yourself. There should be no reason to think less of yourself or your lifestyle. You chose this for a reason, so live it and live it well. If you feel like you're going crazy, then there is one word I could share that hasn't been shared yet: Travel.

Traveling gives you perspective. You get away, you come back fresh and rejuvenated. You don't need to go on huge expensive trips. In fact, a friend of mine has gotten cheap travelling down to a science. He just went to Alaska for a few days for only a couple hundred bucks, went to Seattle a couple weeks before that for even less. This year he's been to Chile, New Orleans, and Montreal. He's been to Germany, Italy, Amsterdam... He's seen much more of the world than me. And I gotta say he is a lot happier these days than he used to be before he started traveling all the time. He's also getting a lot more dates, probably cuz he has a lot of travel stories -- women like a man with experience.

I have to ask, though, where do you live? Cuz your environment really has the biggest effect on your mind. If you are in the middle of the woods, I can imagine being lonelier than ever. If you are in the middle of the city, then you have a lot of options. You don't have to be some amazing person for people to become your friend, you just have to be down to earth and be able to laugh. If it takes a couple drinks to get you there, then so be it. You live once, use every experience as if this were your last day on Earth and you'll probably start to see things differently.

Work during the day and meet people in the evening :) Get a girl and a few good(!) friends. If I am together with just one person, especially a specific girl I never feel lonely, even if I am in the middle of nowhere for my whole life.

For sure the IM business isn't very communicative if you are working alone, but otherwise you can better plan your time with your friends... so do it. You don't need people who are like you. Especially the guys I am hanging around with are completely different to me, absolutely no one understands my business, everyone of them is different to the others as well, but it works. Don't think too much about it. There were girlfriends I had never thought of having them as my girlfriend but as it happened, the time with them was simply great. Often people aren't looking outside like they are inside... in a possible negative but as well in positive aspect! :)

People you would be lonely despite of IM not because of IM. Volunteer, do some charity work get involved, it's that simple but step away from the computer.

I don't know about you but people here make $20-$30 an hour doing shitty jobs. Respected jobs like working in the juridicial branch, being a chief in a big corporation or being a scientist earns you 5 figures a month upwards 7 figures a year, and you have a pretty cool lifestyle.

I don't know where you live but in my country 9-5 salaries are from $300 to $2000 MAX!

That is if you are lucky only ))
