You will want to remove the "No Hands SEO" folder from your "My Documents" folder, that is where the DATABASE.db3 file is that holds all of your settings and profiles.

Yeah NHSEO has been my primary source of backlinking and other than a steady google dance over the past month, my serps have been steadily increasing and no problems thus far.

Thanks for leaving your feedback.

I just tried your comment and it passed the permutation check just fine. With that said I would never use a comment like that as it is not natural looking in anyway and using a URL in the comment itself will make sure that it is prevented from being accepted by most platforms. No Hands SEO handles the linking side of things automatically, placing the link in the comment where necessary and omitting it where necessary also.

The only time a comment or anchor was refused based on permutation not being accepted is if there is an opening curly bracket { without a closing curly bracket } or the other way around.

The comment you are trying to use actually looks quite spammy and not like a genuine comment at all, it has your main keywords in it but with symbols around it just will make it less relevant and less likely to last very long at all. You should either enter comments that look like a genuine poster of a comment or write some sentences/paragraphs that attempt to add more relevancy to the page that will be linking back to you.

Also it is quite important that you use multiple comments (each new line is treated as a new comment) and always spin the comments so there is little to no footprint linking the different linking pages to your stes/pages.

The key to consistent and long lasting SERPs improvements is variation and that should be the main priority, to get as much variation in your anchor texts and comments as possible. Variation in the comments can be done via spinning and by use of the tags.

Congrats on your success. I wish I could report the same but so far nothing. Been using NHS for a few weeks now, support from Jim is absolutely stellar, NHS is programmed intelligently and does what it says very well but I can't see any kind of rank increases whatsoever. Tried it both on new and old sites. The old sites aren't moving one bit (though they rank higher than before in yahoo - yahoo only, not bing and not google) and one new site, which keeps bumping from nowhere, to page 7, to nowhere, to page 7, to nowhere...since weeks/using NHS. Completely clean site, unique content, no onpage BS or anything. Would love to add a good testimonial from me at some point, hopefully soon...fingers crossed :/

Alex, how competitive is the niche you're in? Are you going after long tails or the more stronger ones?

Alex, how competitive is the niche you're in? Are you going after long tails or the more stronger ones?

I'm using NHS mainly for 3 sites: brand new, a penalized domain and an autoblog. They all target longtails mostly.

For the new site, the majority of keywords didn't even get into the top 100 after several weeks, only the 2 most uncompetitive keywords for that site would bounce from nowhere to page 7, to nowhere, page 7, nowhere etc.

For the penalized domain, I'm obviously not expecting anything, I just wanted to see if it would make any difference (got probably hit due to anchor text overoptimization so NHS would be great to de-optimize it). The funny thing is that I'm getting a few first page rankings on yahoo for even some medium+ keywords. Sadly, it did pretty much nothing for my traffic and still nothing in G and Bing (well, it's penalized after all)

The autoblog obviously only goes after longtails. I have no way to track the individual rankings since it's a couple thousand pages but traffic from that site is still the same as weeks before using NHS.

Not sure what else could cause a problem. I created a big variety of anchors for each site in NHS and on top of that set it to use 40% generics and 10% URL as anchor. My comments are mostly scraped and spun stuff via kontent machine (i.e. niche/keyword relevant articles to the site I'm promoting). Using all platforms, like you mentioned in your NHS case study thread (thanks!). Search keywords are all very relevant but I notice that the pages my links are posted on are sometimes completely off topic and don't have remotely to do with my site. Maybe that's a factor.

Another factor could probably be an OBL setting of 750 and no PR filtering but I currently can't afford private proxies. I hope to recall correctly that Jim mentioned he's getting good results with similar settings (OBL of several hundreds and no PR filtering) so I didn't worry too much.

Anything else I might have missed?

Alex,
Currently baking 3 sites with Nohands, and I didn't go the route you or Jim are going with obl's

"Another factor could probably be an OBL setting of 750 and no PR filtering"

Ouch. To me that is shock and awe backlinking. As I said in my thread, I prefer the strategic injection on sites here and there with low obl and a better PR of 1 or more. It's working for me at least on several sites which are brand new and are going up against other websites which have no clue at what they're doing.

You're right though, the penalized domain will be tough to rehab with NoHands, and the new site COULD be hit or miss depending on what you're competitors have already done to get their rankings. You may need to buttress what you're doing with some web 2.0 activity and maybe some social signals as well.

I'd switch anchors up a bit to be honest. I've moved away from large % generics and am doing a TON of LSI inclusion. Here's a great resource to use:

http://lsikeywords.com/cgi-bin/lsikw

Use that for general content building as well. Google's own index has LSI marker pickups in it that can "read" and categorize pages based on overall LSI (even taxonomy usage) on web pages. Forget long tail (which you can STILL get even though your anchor text doesn't say it..imagine that!), just focus on LSI inclusion.

Hope that helps.

Oh, and I don't use proxies in NHSEO either :)

Seems like a good tool to add to my tools list. Will definitely try it when got some funds. Thanks

What's the best configuration to use this tool for a yellow pages directory? Anyway I can add profiles in bulk? Thanks

There is no "best configuration" if there were that would just be the default setup, ultimately everyone has different wants and needs for their sites and that is why No Hands SEO is really quite highly configurable.

If you are concerned with link quality you can limit by outbound links and or PR and also set what platforms you want to use for link building.

I know Cody likes to get low OBL and PR links whereas I am far more lax with the type of links I send to my sites and only limit by OBL so really there is no ideal or best configuration, just use whatever works for you.

In my opinion the biggest factor in seeing consistent SERP improvements and keeping them is to use a wide variety of everything, use lots of anchor texts and make very random yet niche relevant comments. If you add your profiles with the Add Profile Wizard there is a lot of control given right away so you can get exactly the type of links you want for that specific profile as well as the comment controls which allow you to easily enter in your own custom comments that will add a lot of relevancy to your links and also allows spinning to add a huge amount of variation.

Thanks for the dense reply, Cody, much appreciated!

2 things:
1. I'd love to use a lower OBL and PR of 1 as well but the general conclusion I got from Jim's replies is that PR scraping pretty much can't be done without a bunch of proxies (or else IP get's blocked/only returns PR of 0) and at a certain amount of threads, a very low OBL doesn't make sense either (results in very low success rate since NHS is going to burn through a lot of sites until it finds a few with OBL of 25 or so).

So...how do you do it without proxies and without getting your home IP blocked? How many threads (searching/posting) and links per day per profile, if you're willing to share?

2. Thanks for the LSI tip. So you pretty much go to the site (lsikeywords.com), enter your main keyword and everything that comes back from the top 5-10 sites you use as anchors instead of generics?
As for content building, do you mean you try to include as many of the above terms in the comments you use in NHS or on the site where you're building links to with NHS?

Thanks again!

I just don't understand why my private proxies can never have more than 35 out of 50 working at any time. I am using Buy Proxies which was recommended in the NHSEO forum. I just got a new set of 50 proxies and I am already down to only 38 working. Should I increase the delay between searching to something larger than 30000 ms? Maybe I just need to get a new proxy provider to see if any difference? Kinda frustrating as they are not cheap.

i have the same problem before, ask buyproxies to change your ips. i only tried it with 20ips though

The proxies that you have been given by any provider likely were in use before you got them and as such there is a chance that some may have been (temporarily) blocked from searching Google or other search engines. As lovefishball explained you should be able to simply request different proxies that are usable, just let them know which ones are not usable rather than replacing them all. It is possible that the proxies will become usable after a short while as blocks by Google are only temporary.

However as you run it is very possible that some of the proxies will get temporarily burnt out and this is why people should be making use of the "Check Proxies every X minutes" option to ensure that your proxies are always usable, this option automatically checks the proxies for what they are to be used for so if you have the proxies set to be used for searching it will ensure they are usable for searching and temporarily disable any proxies that are currently unusable.

You can set an anchor text (spinnable) for every page in a profile by using the Pages tab of the Profile Handler. In your example you could do something like:
{good job man|good job|job man|good|job|man}

The above spinning text would output the different possible anchors as below:
good job man
good job
job man
good
job
man

You can right-click on the anchor text input box and choose Open Text Rewriter, this allows you to see example outputs of your anchor text as you are writing it.
