F*** Google, Time for the SEO Revolution

2. Thus its maingoal is to increase profit with ads
3. Volatile organic searchresults drive business to adwords. Must be LOTS of money.
4. Now think about how much money flows from foreign states to the pockets of google (maybe in Ireland to avoid taxes). Of course, individual US citizens have nothing from it. But lots of businesses (US and foreign) and their families have a lot less. Can spend less. Can support the economy less.

To me it seems they replace the free option to get paying customers for your shop with ways where you have to pay google for visitors. Look at keywords with commercial intent. Nowadays they deliver PLA even for untargeted searches like 'cheap coffee maker' (at least here in germany). Since the images+ price info of the PLA suck most of buyers from the serps, normal SEO and organic rankings are left with the people looking for information etc.
If you make money with traffic, google wants their share. That's the message.

If someone can come up with estimates of the money that gets taken away from business all over the world / single countries, you might have a political relevant attack vector, since I can imagine it is a major drain for each state.

I think its time internet marketers, SEO providers and small business website owners fight back and tell Google to Fuck off with all of their updates. I am getting sick and tired of worrying every month about updates, penalties, Black hat, white hat, clients bitching. All over what? Because we use software to automate things that would normally take 10 times the amount of man hours to do things. Doesn't Google and every successful business automate things as much as they can?

Wow, I think a lot of people missed my point most notably stfrank.

I know that Google won't "Fall" and lose all of their money and frankly that isn't what I want to happen. I just want some competition to be thrown into the mix so that we as SEOs and Internet Marketers don't have to rely on just Google. In the U.S. our country was founded on Capitalism which works very well if there is competition. Imagine if one gas company owned 87% of the market share? We would all be paying $15-20 a gallon right now or riding bikes to work. Then imagine if every 4-6 months the gas company said "You know what we are updating our policies" You can only get 5 gallons of gas per day, and your car must be smogged checked every week. That is basically what is happening in the internet marketing realm. And for everyone who is sticking up for Google and saying that I am an idiot for thinking one "kid" can bring him down then please bend over and keep taking it up your own a@$.

Btw, I like Google and think that the company has provided a lot of great services to users. I just want to see other companies/search engines to get a piece of the pie

Plus it looks like Google's competition is doing everything in their power to ...help Google.

How can Yahoo afford to screw up so much? Just do what Google does, do it better.... It's as if they are simply not trying.

After my analysis of the top 10 results for my own money site keywords, I have attached the results of screen shots from the Excel file. I analyze each website with moz's open site explorer and majestic SEO's link index. I then wrote down the Domain Authority, Page Authority, Linking Root Domains, OSE links, Citation Flow, Trust Flow, Majestic Total links, % of branded anchors & generics, % of keyword rich anchors, if the Title tag was optimized and if the backlink profile contained spammy links such as blog comments, lots of no follows, websites that say "www.example.com/links" etc. (after a while it gets easy to see who has a spammy backlink profile).

From the results it looks like Google is favoring heavily authority brand name websites. Yelp, Youtube, Walmart, Amazon, Yahoo Local etc. Sometimes Yelp took up the top 2 positions.

For nationwide keywords it seems that big brands or websites with an extremely high domain authority are ranking. The total amount of backlinks and page authority of the actual page that ranks seems to be low, like in the 10-50 links range. Most of the websites have heavily branded and diverse anchor text. For example, some websites were ranking for keywords with 100% brand anchor text and only 5 websites linking to that page. The backlink profile on most of the websites was very clean (meaning natural looking website links)

For localized keywords it seems that again, websites with a very natural backlink profile and a lot of branded links are ranking well. I am talking only 5-15 linking root domains. Most of the pages had optimized Titles and keywords in the content. On average, there was an EMD (exact match domain) with a clean backlink profile on the first page as well. It may only take a website with several other highly relevant links to rank for keywords.

It will be interesting to see if the SERPs continue to stay this way. If it does, I think that the days of automated software are only good for churn and burn websites or as links to buffer sites (PR's, Yelp Reviews, Youtube).

You don't want Google to have competition. They make money and you make money. This is a good thing.
If Google doesn't make money, you will not make money. They will make the search results more volatile when there is competition.
Profit as much as possible. We are still in the gravy train. Once google has competition, the gravy train will be gone.

This happened in Penguin 1. Good sites went to pages 3/4 and bad sites went to 1/2. I think it's because they are testinig the new version against the old version. As stated by the Google spam team they switch sandbox mode with real search to get a better understanding of the user will click. The dust is up high so just calm down and wait for everything to clear. Your site will eventually go back up.

If organic would be that important to the future direction of google... why is it, that you only see 2 organic results above the fold? Or on mobile - have to scroll to page 3 or 4 to see the usual organic rankings? I find it quite obvious, that google is trying to push organic search into a hidden corner of the 'search' page.
Why should they want that? In the end it's google... 'SEARCH' is written all over the company, it's what made them big...
True. And Money is only one part of it. Of course they earn more when people click their ads, instead of free organic results (in fact PLA is a great way to fish all buyers intent from the results).
BUT: I think a stronger reason is, that sooner or later they can't determine a 'good' from a 'bad' website. The organic search gets more strange by the day. Small biz 'white hat' sites gets punished, 'churn n burn' becomes the only method you can count on.
Just think it till the end: SEO tries to imitate natural user behaviour (putting links, tweeting and sharing stuff about your product on FB etc). The differences in natural and imitated behaviour get smaller and smaller. At some time in the future, the search algorithm will do more bad than good, cause it is blinded, all sites looking nearly the same to it.
So in my opinion, the future of google will be a portal like aol, paid ads and strong connections to google services. The rest of the internet being just a small door in a corner of that portal.

I see this movement all over the world, people are pissed off. But there won't be any revolution, change will be gradual. Patiently ask and explain to your friends why other search engines are better.

And just as we (we users and marketers) did it few years ago promoting Google, we will do it again promoting it's competitors. And there will be visible result in few months, believe me.

How to speed things up?
1. Whenever you're taking part in any discussion which needs more info, post link to Bing/Yahoo => LetMeBingItForYou.com (? )
2. Set Yahoo/Bing as default page wherever you can
3. Always refer to Yahoo/Bing results source of information
4. Be optimistic
