I've had enough of this crap which keeps on switching screen modes during a call. I use this proximity sensor that turns off the screen when the phone is on ear to avoid unwanted actions but this sensor sucks so hard that buttons get pressed, calls get cut in the middle of discussion, new numbers dialed and so on. Samsung designs shit, it's that simple. I don't think the newer models have any more advanced sensor than this. My friends that have iphone have never complained about anything, everything works flawlessly for them. We can conclude that Apple designs premium stuff, although the same specs might be more expensive. Just if I wasn't to be into Android development in a few months, I would've sold this crap long time ago.

Been using a S3 for nearly a year and never had that problem.

Mate, just press the lock button, when you put your phone to the ear. It's a good practice on all smart phones especially when their proximity sensors fail.

I have S4 and its the best phone i ever used, think its time for a change,go for S4

S4 doesn't even have a Super Amoled Plus as the S2. Normally I don't care about the specs that much...but this is such a huge difference! The Amoled Plus has a really black black color. Compared to that, the S3 and S4 only have grey, when a black backround is displayed. Samsung says its too expensive, thats why they didn't use it on the newer phones, which is a retarded excuse! But they plan to use it on the S5 again.

I've never experienced any problems with my s3 for about a year now, so I don't think you should be that quick to give up on samsung. Should you decide to give iphone a try then I bet you'll be back soon creating another thread because your screen was completely destroyed from one silly drop.

root it. S2 is quite old phone, but it can easily take android 4.2.2

the problem you are having are not the hardware, but its for the software.

You're complaining about two-generation-old designs. Get the S4 or Note 3.

This is how bullshit spreads about stuff. I've had my Galaxy S2 for over 2 years now and haven't used a different phone since, I have no issues whatsoever.

The same can be said about Apple, I've come across quite a few Apple users that complained about the phone but at the end of the day it was their fault or lack of knowledge.

To conclude, you've either got a faulty model/software or you've screwed it up yourself.

Yup I use the S2 too. Pretty good phone I will probably wait for the S5 to come out.

I think its the best phone when it comes to price/performance ratio. I have it for 2 years and still waiting for a phone to come that will be so much better that it will be worth to buy it.

Hey OnlineA. I could not respond to your message. To answer you, yes I would be able to help you test / give feedback as I am pretty familiar with the "classic" one we have all been using. Feel free to email me at honda20002011 at live.ca and we can speak there

I have no problem at all with my s2. Don't forget to update the OS

Root it and switch it out with Cynagenmod
or use an iphone.
