Help me meet my goal

I was going through the rules and decided that this wasn't against them, and if it was I must have missed it a couple of times, however..

I'm currently trying to get funds to start a massive tutorial series on creating your own game from scratch, this will include collision detection, multiplayer communication, queued packeting, and some tools to make creating maps easy. This is intended for the beginners and everything will be explained to the best of my knowledge. The reason that I am raising the money is so that I could hire some artists so it didn't look horrible and I actually had some people viewing the tutorials. Also, I would need video editors.

I really like the idea and I feel many people would really be interested in wanting to create there own games without much Java knowledge from the start. I am subscribing and look forward to hearing further updates from you.

A side note, as you did mention in your video you have Java experience I am assuming users will learn how to create java based games, if so I would really encourage you to search youtube for "thenewboston" and he has created many Java tutorials and a "how to make your own video game in Java," you can definitely use that very a base in this project.

As netmoney mentions above, including some examples would help your campaign. Even simple demos would do well.
You mention Java programming in your video, I'm assuming the course will be Java oriented? You don't make this explicitly clear I'm afraid.

Will you be working directly with opngl/sdl or using a game engine? I've never done game programming in Java so I wouldn't know what type of engines are current right now. Had some very brief experience with imonkey though. Would you be using any engine for your tutorial series. If so mention this.

Generally I'd say you should include more content. Pictures, demos, etc. You get the idea. Show your passion for this project and people will get on board. I'd also recommend documenting your process and progress via a blog. Another thing I've noticed when it comes to kickstarter: videos with actual faces in them seem to go over much better than a static screenshot. Obviously you are lacking in money to pull an oculus rift type of production video, but a simple webcam recording would already do wonders.

You might also want to give news.ycombinator.com a shot. Def spice up your kickstarter before submitting though (and be prepared to be ripped apart in the comments haha).

I'll make a couple of examples really quickly and toss them up, I've recently formatted windows and lost everything due to some crazy virus I got.

Thanks for the feedback! I've actually watched a few of his videos, but what I plan on doing is a bit more in-depth, I'll be explaining everything, and bringing in multiplayer aspects aswell.

Because, I'm creating tools that is going to lighten the load on developers that are just getting into game development, almost like a "Game-Maker" type of tool, but instead it generates the code in pure java and explains what everything does, where to put it, and why you put it there, regardless as to if this is funded or not, I'm still making the series, that's irrelevant. The funding it just to make everything look pretty. (Graphics)

Sounds like a nice concept. I personally would have made a tiny drop on a copyright to write the text to improve your conversion and the kickstarter profits would have covered your costs Just a little tip for next time maybe/
