[Free] Great Domain Name Trick

Just a quick share that will hopefully benefit everyone here, since we all play around with domains, even if only to test out our projects.

Here's the trick:

Don't buy a 12.99 domain if you don't know if your project will work or not, at least don't for the first year.

Go to Google and type "domain names"

You'll see an ad at the very top by GoDaddy. Click on that and you'll get a domain for 2.95 for the first year. That is plenty of time to figure out if you're going to generate money from your project or not. If you succeed, then you start paying full price for the domain (at which point you should have sufficient funds to easily cover the domain payment)

Or go with iPage. I got a domain name for 0.99 US$ with hosting plan and related email account, for 1 month. Afterwards it will switch to 5 US$ if I don't cancel. But I have 2 months time to test this new venture and only spend 5.99 for all of it.

i doubt there would be a coupon for an auction domain, but don't take my word for it. in any case, as you can see above, there are also some other great options given above.

Trouble with cheap domain names is you usually never have privacy on them. How to most people cope with that or do they just rent a cheap mailbox and use that for domain registering.
