Google authorship, use it or not...

Hi,

So, now i have google authorship and can ad picture so my profile so it will show up is the search results...

I think it is not good for click true when people see a profile picture in the searchrestult, or should be a nice looking babe

I believe it will increase CTR and your rankings a bit if you use authorship , at least it did for me...

I cant see why a profile pic isn't good in serps result for you... But obviously, you should choose a profile picture that is related to your niche, e.g. health - go with a doctor type pics, dating, go with a hot babe, etc etc..

Depends on what your niche is. Its supposed to add authority and trust so will work if you are personally selling something that you are an authority on.

Thinking of doing it myself...Need to instagram a picture so it looks nothing like me first !

Hahah i added my best picture 3 days ago, yesterday it did show up, i removed it directly. Not sure but i think only a good looking babe (not sexy only good looking) will give more trust and click true. What will happen when i ad a product picture or just my company logo.....

I thought you can only use a shoulders up head shot for authorship photos....although you can get away with using an image thats not yourself I doubt you can use a product picture ?

As far as I saw is having a small impact versus your CTR but, for sure if you target a specified market the presence of the logo of your company can be a plus in long term, I still believe that for this period is not so important the picture - the most important is to maintain your backlinks in good shape

Yes you can use product picture, i tryed and works fine, just change your profile photo to a product photo, what i dont now what will happen when google staff will see it? (maybe a bann)

So as conclusion don't put a picture of yourself put the lamp (Aladdin lamp) and for sure you'll not be penalized

Google authorship is not just helping you increase your CTR, but also help you to protect your content from content stealer.
What type of picture should be used? Need to test it out. As many people have mentioned, you should match your profile pic with your niche's characteristics.

Yes use it, Google will eventually bring out authorship rankings - there is not reason not to use it.

Haha, the peach will work for sure (read the article). Apparently Google is toying with the idea of brand authorship so we can use logos soon.
