Now everyone's saying not to do what everyone's saying. So if we do what you say, which is not do what everyone's saying, then I'm doing what you're telling me not to, but doing what you say to do. Anyone mind fucked yet? >D

Im am mindfucked. I say I dont give a fuck. Do what you want, I just think forums like this leave the biggest footprint if you think about it. The services beeing sold etc etc. you see the same links popup everywhere your whole backlinking profile is the same as 50k other sites. If they find one they can easily find the rest with the same do-follow no-follow percentages. or many links build. then quit then more links. its all unnatural. en that is what google tries to prevent. fake popularity of a website... So better become the master in faking orgasms and you will beat this. If its build natural theres no way an algoritm will find out.

And one more thing if a secret method or russian network with super results is discovered and sold here, your to late since matt cutts is the first one to buy that stuff, and after a weak theres the penalty. But the ones that discovered it made a killing and when to many people found out or the effects started to wear off, they left and sold the methods or start a bst

WTF, today I check my amazon affiliate account and found some nice sales in last 3-4 days. the traffic is from 2 of my domains which I dumped 6 months considering them useless. I checked the ranks, both the sites are ranking in top 3 for main keywords. I have not even updated those sites since 6 months. hahahaha
:cheer2::cheer2:

I've seen an increase in rankings for a few of my sites..

What's up with YELP, Yellow Pages and other BS for local results? Google, cut that shit off seriously. I had to go to 2nd page just to find a related website.

I think I got it...

did a correlation between my sites that did not get hit and competitors that also rided out this one in various niches... These sites have only one factor in common. Boils down to links, as expected. Means that if you moved to page 2-4, you just lost a bit of links. If you moved off more, means you lost a lot of links (well, juice) and ones that remain are probably crappy enough to trigger OP penalty that follows. I think this update goes over "all" links and triggers the ones that are still up from "early spammy days" if they managed to pass those for some reasons earlier.

Still waiting for dust to settle and trying few new links to some sites that got hit really hard. Very interesting.

Actually it seems pretty simple. I'm wondering why no one have figured it out yet. Just look at the link profiles of the sites that "stood tall" during the storm and not the BS results that pooped all over. That's just shit hitting the fan. Look at the ones that were there during the whole deal.

That also answers why so many whitehat sites got wiped though it saddens me that lot's of good sites got (as usual) hit as collateral.

That should be the answer. Rinse and repeat.

WhiteHat My (_x_) !

please can you explain your key first paragraph in simple english.. it makes no sense at all
Vouch for this. FatSteve please do . I didn't correctly udnerstand what you actully have figured out .

lol... all i could work out is... " BOILS DOWN TO LINKS" is the big find here? lol
great find steve, I think you have cracked Penguin 2.1

At least he found it was about links, I had some people asking me if they were hit by penguin because of putting 2 pictures in the slider instead of more for quality slider

Yup! They are always switching things up but there is defiatenly a new algarythm brewing

One of my sites:

I just noticed something I've never seen before.

When doing a search, below the first 10 results, I get 3 more results as "in depth articles". Not for all searches though...

Anybody saw that?

Supposedly adding the right schema markup can help you gain the "in depth article" ranking. Not sure of the other pre-requisites, as they aren't disclosed as far as I know.

Not sure what you mean by right schema mark up. I did a simple research and typed: paleo diet in the search bar.

Nothing else.

Thanks

Today my friend was driving around looking for a Halloween costume for her upcoming Halloween party. The first store she went to din't have what she was looking for and neither did the second store. She grabbed for her phone and searched Google for local Halloween shops in her area. YELLOW PAGES! WIKIPEDIA! and a lot of more bullshit results popped up. I told her to use Bing. She's going to be a sexy french maid this Halloween!!! Thanks Bing!!!

today i'm seeing a few keywords making positive movements... no way near the original rankings though.

FYI i've done nothing but sit back for now...

Some people were wondering if 301s still work to recover the rankings; I can now confirm they do, as expected... I've managed to recover the rankings for one of my sites completely.

how long has your recovery been?

b/c it usually recovers, but then sometime later passes the penalty...you might be wondering what is "sometime" later?

sometime later can be up to a month, give or take after the penalty passes...
