Some people elsewhere suggest that Godaddy to Godaddy account "push" does not have the 60 day hold. Only transfers to another registrar has it. I'm not 100% sure, though.

there are coupons for new namecheap accounts with .coms at $0.99

Does they have a lot of coupons code like godaddy or they have fixed prices after the first year???
It is been some time that I want to move from godaddy to namecheap but I hesitatet to do this

AFAIK, NameCheap doesn't entertain renewals. But their technical support and service is awesome.

Namecheap coupons are great for the first year,
great support and fr.ee whois,
however, they are NOT discounted after year 1,
but with fr.ee transfers out from NC to other DECENT registrars,
it may be worthwhile for some, but not everyone.

Renewals ~ $10 fixed, more or less, ABSOLUTELY no cheapo offers from NC after 1st year.

Yeah NC doesnt produce renewal coupons, namecheap domains are cheap because it has free whois, godaddy charge $9.99 for whois protection.

You can do an internal transfer at Godaddy at any time, although if I remember correctly it has to be renewed if its already expired. If you want to move it away from Godaddy, then the 60 day window takes effect.
