Where to Sell Articles?

Hey,

Apologies if this isn't the most relevant forum to ask this question. The more pertinent one requires Jr. VIP.

I have a woman who's been working for me (on a freelance basis) for around 10 years. She has an MA in English Lit, a strong background in SEO, and she's my go-to writer for top-notch SEO articles. The trouble is, I just don't need much writing at the moment, but at the same time I don't like to leave her hanging (when I know she needs the money).

This isn't an advert for her (it'd be a little more nifty!). Can you tell me in which direction to point her? I considered Fiverr and some other sites, but they either take away a buck an article (in the case of Fiverr) or would seem a slow process before you begin selling your writing (having to build up repuation, etc). I don't want to just say no to her: come back in January.

So what are her options?

- Emailing blogs to ask about blog updates?
- Forums to post on?

I'm clueless. I'm also sure any info you provide would help out a great many people here.

How about she creates her own website with a niche where she can sell services or where she can use affiliate marketing? After all, she's good with article-writing and has knowledge of SEO.

She did have a website and I know she still has a Twitter account and FB page; and probably other platforms. I think she and her husband have money problems because she no longer has the website. I probably gave the wrong impression about her SEO skills. She knows how to write a great SEO article but she isn't an SEO expert. She relies on old clients at the moment (like me) and never had to use the online article writing sites because people like myself have always kept her busy. She would probably be embarrassed if she knew I was running around for her, but I feel bad. She isn't really IM savvy at all. Just a local woman here who retired early from teaching to look after her kid and does a little writing on the side. Thanks for your reply, though! It confirms what I was thinking. I feel she needs money sooner than later, but I want to tell her to just go the affiliate marketing route. I'd even give her a site.

What's the price she writes articles for? Would be nice if you can PM me as well.
Also, you can contact the article services sellers here in BHW. Many of them do need writers all the time to cope up with the huge work load. So she might get a fair chance with one of them.

Thanks a lot for your reply. Great idea about contacting the article providers here.

I pay her $1 per hundred words, unless it's something that requires a lot of specialized knowledge. For example, I created a site last year that promotes the literary niche. The required content was very highbrow and I paid a healthy lump sum to give me a 25 page site. (I'd be lying if I remember what I paid. I guess it would work out to be 3 times her norm; not sure.)

Thanks for the replies RedMango and SnakePliskin (which happens to be one of my favourite horror characters).

It probably seems unusual that I'm posting for her here. We live in a small UK town and I think she might be put off by the name of this forum and some of the subject-matter. Not that there's anything wrong with BHW, I love it; she's just not the type you'd find here.

Anywho! Thanks for the suggestions thus far. It reinforces for me what an excellent community we have in BHW.

Price depends on your requirements. A typical non-fiction article is $1 per 100 words.

She also writes e-books, mini-sites, authority sites, blog posts, and fiction shorts, novellas, and novels for anyone wishing to have something to sell on Kindle, etc.

You can tell your writer to sign up in this forum. Lots of members looking for good article writers all the time :D
 
I have been writing articles for 6 years and my quality is the highest on bhw.
