'Reputation Management'...worth paying for?

Dear All;

Our client needs to clean up Pg1 of Google. The quotes for this have been sky high- from 900GBP-5000GBP per month.

Is this realistic to, say, bring down a negative forum post onto Page 2?

Or are there other techniques we can explore ourselves at minimal cost?

Reputation mangement is generally a high margin service that clients jump for because they are in pain. It is not terribly hard to do, however.

It's high maintenance. So, it will definitely be costly. Is it worth it? That really depends on what is on the front page. Is it very damaging to your reputation/businesses reputation or is it just a little embarrassing.

How can you exactly remove a search result from the page 1 ? spamming it with cheap backlinks won't always work...

Reputation management is suitable for those businesses who has a lot at stake if they change their domains.
A simple payday loan website wouldn't need reputation management as it is easier to build another website with new domain.
And yes reputation management is costly but if they will show positive result or not is hard to tell.

We have just cleaned up 7 negative reviews on Google page one for a finance client of ours, they had 2.4 rating and now its is 4.2, it took quite a long time to sort this out but it can be done.

He is right, it's not TERRIBLY hard to do, but it is a bit of a pain. Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Instagram, Google +, Youtube, and 4 other high PR websites that are abpout/belong to the client can be backlinked from every type of back link source. I've done it several times. Not the funnest thing to do in internet marketing, but it does work.

Basically you create so many instances of your clients name online through various means, then you rank them so that they out rank the bad stuff and drive it from the front age.

Whatever you build must be quality so it will rank above the negative information.

So if you business is "discount ford", you create accounts at every place on the web you can think of in this name, flesh these out, build backinks carefully until they rank. You need at least 10 examples of this to clear the front page. You actually need 15 or 20, because some will dance on and off the front page.

If you try to cheap your way thru this they will not rank and you have wasted your time.

This is why it is expensive (or time consuming).

If you are professional SEO then its not hard to do a reputation managment for any website having bad reviews specially ripofreport. Its only need proper stratagy and good command on High PR sites.

As you know we want a solution which isn't just paying into a high margin.

It is a pretty damaging and defamatory thread in Pg1/Pos 2.

We would want to move up the clients other sites and push this to page 2.

It is a big forum, so Google 'likes' it. But it must be possible to make the client's sites rank higher?

Would it require making backlinks to the clients' other sites? So it'd become SEO on not just one website, but about 10??

no because most people check website with a lot of negative reviews but to just pay for it with a new site will not be worth it and it depends on what you are selling.
