Google update just now? 10/4?

Do you people only monitor your own sites or something?
1000s of keywords have changed across the board... it's the largest update I've ever seen (even larger than Penguin 1.0).

I don't see jack shit happening on any of the tens of sites I manage..... Most are foreign, non-English though...maybe that explains it.

I am seeing some logic in this. A lot of my sites with "bulletproof web 2.0 structures" just got kicked in the backside.

**To clarify - The money site is a regular page, not a web 2.0 property. I'm suggesting that if your money site used lots of Web 2.0 properties with spun content the money site has dropped.

Please agree or disagree with this statement, it will be helpful so we can work out the changes.

Way to soon to make assumptions. It'll take days , even weeks to get a full picture, this will be phase one, google rolls out several minor tweaks for about a week or so after the major update.

Also for people got hit before, If a site dropped from #1 to 100-200 position after an update, Can it get back again after a couple of days to the first spot or even the first page?!

I would assume they'd work short term (based on the past) but there's only one way to find out...

Everything looks stable here on money sites, but the test sites are showing a few unsurprising results:

Site 1: Ranking primarily with links from a BST service sold here, which is focused on Web 2.0s and articles written by ESL employees. Went from #1 to #162.

Site 2: Ranking solely on links from a well publicized blog network. Anchor text variation was 66.7% naked URL, 33.3% money. Went from #3 to #126.

This is my first time being hit by an update, so I would prefer to get some answers based on previous experiences

This is what it looks like: If you built spammy Web 2.0s you got hit, especially if they have spun content. Each site can take a certain amount of spam content, but once it crosses a certain threshold it drops. This score is based on factors both onpage and off like domain authority, bounce rate, # of pages, quality of content.

Agree with this however I feel that if your link profile is odd one out out of the top 10 then you will be easily penalized..I guess google is targeting from that angle(Odd one out). Best way is to build same amount of links the top 10 have while keeping the quality in mind and not to overdo it which will keep the site under Radar(Hopefully)
