I am under 18 and I have my own debit card. I want to sign up for PayPal so people can send me money in exchange for digital goods.

What are the odds of getting caught/banned for being under 18? Anyone else under 18 using PayPal? And if i get caught will it affect other accounts under the same IP? It'd suck if someone else in my home was affected by it.

Thanks

If you are using a static IP and all your family members use the same IP then PayPal will definitely link both accounts. So don't create an account if anyone from the same house, has the same IP and has their own PayPal account, they will all end up being suspended.

Invest in a VPN, Proxy or VPS. Buy a verified PayPal account, you can get these for around $30.

I am under 18 and you won't get caught about it. I use PP too and I have no problems with the age. Also: I don't use credit card, I used debit.

If from the US, you can't actually own your own credit card under your name until you are 18.

OP; don't worry, I had a paypal account of mine become limited back when I was 15 and it had 360$ on it. When I turned 18, I sent in my drivers license as proof and they unlocked the account.

I deleted that account after making a new one and sending the money over to it, which is now my real PayPal. I'm 19 now. They do, if I remember right, have child paypal accounts that you can link from a Parent that gives you the ability to link your debit card or buy PayPal cards.

Might look into that. If you are just buying stuff, being underage shouldn't affect you. If you are doing business, then yes; I would suggest a VPN until you are 18.

Thanks. When you were 15 did your parents have a PayPal? If my account got limited I don't want it to mess up their one.

You are safe i guess. Safe as everyone. Though noone is completely safe with pp.

PayPal seems a bit too risky for me. Are their any recommended Payment gateways that have a easy sign up? (No business info required, etc.)

Hardly. Unless you mean to lose your money to fraud even quicker than with PayPal (which is almost a fraud by itself).

The only bank in the world that is not actually a bank. :)

Uhmm, I think you're way too paranoid. I had a paypal all throughout Highschool and its been verified for a long time. My parents had a paypal to, no problems...

So PayPal want

Photo ID
Bank Account Statement
Credit Card Statement
Proof of Address

So i submitted my debit card statement and instead of approving my bank account and debit card they approve my address? wtf? my address wasnt even on the statement

They're putting you through the strictest check. They suspect something...

Yeah probably my fault as I added a pre-paid visa, then they wanted a statement and I told them I couldn't because it's a pre paid.

Well can you just ask your family to use the account til your old enough. Or are you buying bad things

I was gonna sell whitehat digital service using PayPal "send money to family and friends" option so i dont pay a fee

I don't want to open another thread:

I have a question. I need a paypal account (cause I can't receive money to my paypal account in my country)
But my friend (in Romainia) can create a valid paypal account for me with his credentials. So I will use it.

How can I use it safely? Maybe they can see that I'm entering with another IP/country and just ban this account?

Buying VPN so he can register with it and then I can continue to work with it?
