Offer Website Training to gain work, it turns them into clients

I wrote some quick training to train a client who wanted to build their own website. I went and showed them in person....

OUTCOME
They realised it was too hard and asked me to do it for them, so 4 hours of training billed and now to build the site with their trust, understanding on the processes and booked SEO training. - Then they will probably realise its too hard for them too so more for me pocket lol!

Just goes to show you can catch potential clients through offering the DIY option and still profit

yeah I have found a lot of success with this type of approach as well. :x you just have to be careful if like they want a e commerce site not to point them to like shopify, squarespace or something along those lines. I made that mistake once lol.

I think even with those cloud based shopping carts lots of laymens would feel very overwhelmed. Sure you can a cookie cutter theme out the box with these but most people serious about their business would want to customize it to a point along with their own unique branding for their product or service.

Actually, sites like shopify charges monthly fee + commission per sale. Not to mention their SSL cost like $100+ (total ripoff).

So depending what your client sells, it might turn out to be cheaper to hire you and get a WP ecommerce or magento site up instead. Show them the math and they will understand within minutes.

I was thinking about doing a DIY website video as the search volume is very high, however the competition is low because obviously people don't try and monetize it. I'll definitely look at using Wordpress and maybe even partnering with a host for commission.
