It frustrates me to see incorrect use of this section, or people wasting others time. So I thought I'd list some of the things (In no particular order) I'd like to see done, out of common courtesy for the forum and its members.
Lets keep this forum to the high standard I expect from it.
- List your price. So people can see at a glance if the job is worth their time. Even if you don't know how much the job is worth, have some sort of budget or estimation there.
- Let people know once you've found someone. Jr VIPs can close their own threads too. This will prevent unnecessary thread bumping, years from now.
- Be descriptive! Don't just post "Please help!!" or "I haz a problem with my website" in the thread. Write down any details you can.
- The section is for people OFFERING a job only. Don't post your CV or your level of homelessness in this section. I'll report your homeless ass.
- Have more than one contact method if possible. No one likes waiting months for you to accept them on Skype.
- iTrader. There's a "bad rating" option there for a reason. If the noob did a bad job, don't just neg rep him. Leave a review of his services, so the rest of us know to stay away. Likewise, let us know if they did a good job.
- Don't be careless. I hate seeing Shitlist threads. Make sure you have agreed on a payment method before the work has commenced. I find a 50% now, 50% when the job is done is usually a good way to go. This works whether you are the buyer or seller.
