is there any chances to come on October ?Will there ever be an update ?

it's weird, but 1 of my sites changed from PR2 to PR3 a few days ago, haven't seen a pr update in a very long time..

OP This metrics is a dinosaur of a long gone era 2005 - 2007...

Not worth paying any special attention to in 2013 when many more website tasks are far more important...

i think we'll see a pr update this month for sure.

in fact it'd be fun to put my rep score as a wager. +rep if im right -rep if im wrong?

My opinion
you've seen the last update ever
Google has stopped doing it

PR is not as important as you think. Right now, Domain Authority is the ticket.

I have to say that the effect of high pr have lessen..

But still high pr are the best..

since they didnt officialy kill it, imo they will update it soon.

It's been already 8 months, but NO PR update from google. I don't think, Google will update their PR in this October. They can do it in December (may be)

I'm leaning towards it being gone for good. I think Google's not updating PR to stop link buying and hurt people's ability to sell domains or build networks based on PR.

Link buying has been happening FOR-EV-ER. I'm not sure that's the reason why we havn't seen an update. I remember 5 or 6 years ago there wasn't an update for about a year, so this has happened before mates.

Page Rank is really not something you should be looking at as far as how to rank your sites. That alone any way. It's a metric that is dieing out and not going to be used in the future. The Page Rank formula is not even owned by G and I doubt they will renew the patent to use it. I've got a PR 6 domain and you would think based on high Page Rank it would rank all over, well it does not. There are so many other factors that are being considered in ranking high. G is making it tougher to manipulate search results. Things that should be considered are foremost, social signals. Those are right now and I believe for a extended period of time in the future, going to be huge factors in ranking. Then bounce rate and how users interact with your site. It's all going to be tracked. If your not socially popular and there is no 'buzz' about your site/page then it's going to be hard to get decent rankings.

That will not stop link buying.... Seller will just use different authority metrics like Domain authority and page authority.

+1. PA/DA is the way to go now. In fact, they're far more accurate and reliable than Pagerank if you ask me.
