Could this make me some money?

I'm Aussie, and afaik you can't register a *.com.au unless you have a ABN and reside in Australia.

What if I made myself a broker for registrations? I know it would work logistically from my end I would just pay for the domain then hand all the login details over to the new owner.

But would BHW allow this? or is it too shady???

What you're talkin about can be done - many registrars are already doing it by having appropriate middlemen in certain countries so they can sell exotic TLDs.

If you can:
A) streamline your paperwork process so it's efficient,
B) offer some kind of API access for domain registration and billing,
c) offer competitive prices.

I think there can be some money made from this.

problem with this type of thing is one complaint and your whole business fails .. and your clients would probably get the domains yanked back.

You have to have the legal angle worked out - I should've pointed that out earlier.
This is actually a common practice among registrars.

Only one complaint cannot fail the whole business - the offending domain is usually deactivated so the client can't use it anymore. This happens all the time and isn't really that big of a deal - you just handle it like any other business. You just better make sure you have a well writen TOS and AUP

Yeah seems more trouble than it's worth + the profit margins would not be that great unless I really inflated the resell price.
