Warrior for Hire forum any good?

If you're like me, the Warrior Forum repulses you. With that being said, it is very cheap to get started there. My little interface design agency just released a new product, and since this new product doesn't have any reviews I figured I would offer "review copies" there. Instead of $5,000/site, I'm selling them for $500/site in exchange for a review.

I have many years of experience with design and development and would never try and sell a $5,000 product there. Since I'm just fishing for reviews and not really to make a killing, I figured WF would be an easy way to build them quickly.

What is you all's experience with the Warrior for Hire section?

Absolutely.

However, the place can be a gold mine for freelancers or for services like what you described. WF has a userbase generally willing to pay higher prices than necessary - just look at what some of the guys who do very-average-level copywriting pull down over there. Furthermore, WF has a huge, huge userbase.

Look around for what your competitors are charging for a similar service. If anything, you might be shooting too low at $500.

Each thread and subsequent bump in the Warriors for Hire section will run you $20. If you do things properly, earning this back shouldn't be a problem, ever.

The Warrior Forum is complete garbage as a forum for actual learning and discussion, but for selling stuff it's fantastic. Just think about all of those god awful WSO's that make a killing.

A couple words of advice: you need 50 posts in order to use PMs. This isn't exactly fun to build up, but you need to do it. Post genuinely helpful advice in popular threads (ideally semi-related to your service) so that later you can get a little bit of traffic from your signature. Link to your Warriors for Hire thread as well as your website in your sig.

Additionally, the WF crowd is absolutely anal about keeping things "white hat". If you offer advice or services that are even remotely black hat, grey hat, potentially unethical, etc. a ban will be forthcoming. Play their game and you can vaccuum up some dough for sure.

Wasn't it $5 for a bump till recently? I seem to remember bumping for $5 on a thread I had a year or two ago. $20 is kind of cray cray.

I'm surprised at all the content threads advertising content for 2 cents per word. I guess those threads are run by farmers. I know that I, as an individual, can't afford to take a bazillion orders from the forum at 2 cents per word. The up-side is that farmers almost always end up putting out crappy content.

Signature linking to the thread is essential, as is making generally helpful posts throughout the forum. It's helpful to have "thanks" on your profile, though not everyone pays attention to that.

Keep people interested in your thread and you shouldn't have to bump too often.

I don't think having War Room membership is all that important as far as getting orders goes, but I could be wrong about that. From what I can tell, people without it do just fine. The caveat to that is you only get 10 PMs if you're a standard member, so managing clients from the forum itself would be kind of tricky. If you try it that way make sure you delete your sent messages, because they count toward the total. A lot of people provide an email that prospective clients can send orders to.

I don't know if I am wrong or not, I may be thinking the wrong section. My first WSO failllled, and it got leaked. I believe it's on this forum leaked somewhere to. Could care less, I wrote it under a different name so it doesn't matter anymore.

hey OP ,
here is my take . the quality of the forum you are on is much better than the wf place ..
so if you can hire someone reputable from here . i am pretty sure any services/work listed on wf , in the for hire section , you can easily find guys here to do that job.
I am only saying this , because long term i think you should focus on quality for yourself and for your clients.

The sales threads are basically the same people boosting each othe.

These threads will never give the OP's what they want. Basically it's asking whether such and such method will work on another forum. There's only reply: try! Give it a try then you'll have your own opinion. Maybe if it works you can share your experience back here....

Unfortunately, it doesn't matter how many people reply to your thread; the only time a for hire thread bumps is when you pay. Pretty shitty, but them Warrior Forum folks ain't running no charity, son.

You're pretty much right, the only exception being if you have something "free" to give away which you can make "exclusive" for War Room members. They really eat this stuff up: make an ebook or an audio presentation or whatever that relates to your service. Provide legitimately decent/helpful information, but push your service or mailing list or whatever you want.

There are two kinds of people that actually pay for a War Room membership: people who think they're going to get something out of it (idiots) and people who know how to profit off of the first type of person.

A couple of additional tips for their for hire section:

• Cough up the money for a VOIP number for your service/business. If I recall correctly, a SkypeIn number runs something like $20 for 3 months of service. It's cheap and makes you look professional as hell compared to most of the jokers on there. The Warrior Forum tends to attract a less technologically inclined crowd, so having a real live phone number adds a lot of trust to your post. You don't have to sit by Skype all day either, just set up voicemail. Additionally, if you live outside the US, you can get a US based number.
• Instead of offering review copies in exchange for a standard written review, offer review copies in exchange for a VIDEO review. Posting a "video testimonial from real Warror Forum user XYZ" looks amazing in your thread, and yes, people will absolutely do it. WF members love this kind of stuff.
